Now that it's done I've noticed many more TCU and BAYLOR fans, granted they've also had historic seasons, but still i think the pause in the rivalry has helped as well.

I also love how it just bugs Aggie fans that they went out with a loss. I dislike both but I feel like the Longhorns are the lesser of two evils.

Another thing. If for some reason that rivalry and TXST were on at the same time, I'd have to leave the party on Thanksgiving to watch the Bobcats.

I know very little about ut or a&m, curious as to why you think aggies are worse. From the outside looking in I would have thought the opposite.

UT/A&M is a long, storied, and intense rivalry . . . At least it was . . . One's point of view as to which is worse, and by the way that's clearly TU, just happens to depend on what side of the UT/A&M Fence you happen to be on . .. . .

That this game is longer played anymore, is a BIG Deal here in Texas . . . Huge Bragging Rights were on the line every year with this game . . . For some families, Thanksgiving devolved into Civil War . . .

Imagine an ACC Basketball season without a Duke/Carolina game . . . It's kinda like that . . . And one of the things I hate about realignment . . .

Sorry I wasn't clear in my question. I understand the tradition and rivalry. I was curious as to why you felt aggies were worse than horns. Kind of how in Georgia I view Ga Tech fans as less evil than UGA fans primarily because they are less obnoxious. From an outsider I assumed UT fans would be worse but as I said, know very little about the fans.

As a former resident of Texas [I am still a Texan, we are like Marines, no such thing as an ex-Texan] I will take a stab at answering your question. Both Whorn fans and Aggies can be a bit overbearing.

That being said, the Aggies are a family, a big, close-knit family that has been unmercifully ribbed for over 100 years about their school, their personal choices, just about everything. They are very proud of who they are and of their school; and they have developed sort of a persecution complex. They are fiercely loyal, and equally protective of their own. It is almost a band of brothers thing. Some people find that offensive.

The Whorns, on the other hand, are a bunch of self-absorbed, arrogant, at times obnoxious fans with a HUGE sense of entitlement. [Think LSU or UGA]

Aggies will welcome you into their 'family' if you want to join... Whorns don't understand how you can live in Texas and NOT want to be one of them.

Personally, though I like UT's sports teams as a casual fan, I find the Aggies a much more down to earth group, and if I had to chose which group I wanted to be identified with, I would be an Aggie.
