I know our low information fans will be all in a tizzy for the Wolfpack visit and even a chance to beat Duke who has a higher RPI than NCST so technically a more important game but more fans will show up for the NCST game than Duke or the crucial weekend series vs UCF.

NCSU is our biggest rival. Throw in the fact that I come into contact with State grads every day and I have a ton of friends who went to state of course that is going to be the biggest game on our schedule.

In college football would Clemson fans be more excited to play TCU than South Carolina just because TCU is ranked higher?

I wish we played NCSU in everything every year. We are more alike than they are to UNC as much as they dont want to admit it. Not to mention every game with them is a damn good time and without the best tailagtes, in raleigh and in greenville

I understand all of that and believe me I enjoy watching ECU beat NCST very much. What I am saying is I just wish that emotion and attendance could make people come out to watch a better Baseball team in UCF. I love ECU sports and enjoy watching us play quality opponents. UCF Baseball this year is not only a quality opponent but has been better than NCST in both Baseball and Football.

The American Conference is a solid Baseball league this year so ECU competing in it is exciting to me. I look forward to Cliff Godwin having a few recruiting classes under his belt and winning the AAC. We are playing good baseball right now and hopefully the larger crowds that showed up for NCST last night and Duke tonight will be excited enough to come back out and support the team this weekend in a critical AAC series that could have a huge impact on our RPI, position in the AAC and a shot at an at large bid. ECU could possibly punch their ticket to the post season with a series win over UCF and while the NCST game was awesome and bumped our RPI up it does not have near the impact on the post season as UCF does.
For ECU the post season has been almost a given and even our bubble teams would get the nod from the NCAA committee based on our history but the last few years knocked us down from our normal respect level and Cliff Godwin has to rebuild that. Making the NCAA Tournament this year would be huge based on the level of talent we currently have and the holes Cliff has to fill. For now we just need to beat Duke and move on to UCF. I love beating the ACC schools and remember when I was in school going 9-0 vs the ACC the season we finished with the best winning percentage in the country with over 40 wins. The ACC likes to duck us now even though the games are fun to watch and attendance is always solid.
