Mar 29, 2015
The Ragin' Cajuns defeated Siena University 52-50 in a thrilling final to the 2015 Women's Basketball Invitational. Louisiana claimed the tournament championship in front of a home crowd of loud fans at Earl K. Long Gymnasium on campus.
The Cajuns had the lead through much of the first half and extended it to as many as 14 points with 12:15 to go. The Saints of Siena chipped away at the lead and eventually grabbed a one point advantage (48-47) on two free throws by Tehresa Coles with 1:44 remaining in the game. UL's Robbie Brown drilled a three pointer on the next possession for the home team to give the Cajuns the lead for good. Siena had a chance to tie the game late but the Cajuns forced a turnover and Brown made a FT with :02 left to claim the win.
