RE: Georgia Southern "chicken" discussion
We have the same fascists at Coastalfans. I have tried to explain for the betterment of the university that our mascot makes us look stupid because the Chanticleer in the Canterbury Tales' "Nun's Priest's Tale" was NOT meant to be revered due to his stupidity, foolish pride, and most importantly his cowardliness (hence the reason we call cowards, "chickens"). I have also tried to explain that we need a new one because the main reason we used the Chanticleer was because we were once a U of SC regional campus and wanted a mascot that represented our boss. Now we are independent, but still have a mascot that represents the very institution that was stealing from us.
What did Coastalfans do? They banned me from the website. Maybe the Chanticleer represents them perfectly.
