Not true. Both Houston and SMU have similar pedigree. Both come close to National Championships. NAVY brings pedigree. All three of those programs have Heisman Trophy Winners.

Cuse and Pitts accomplishments were already history by the time SMU and Houston were winning SWC titles. There is plenty pedigree in this conference.

Please. SMU's glory years are tied to the death penalty. Cuse and Pitt werent' cheating, denying they were cheating, getting caught for cheating, and then cheating some more.

Houston had a great 3 year run in the late 70s. But not NCs.
