SBC MBB Champs receive no votes
NCAA RPI

http://www.ncaa.com/rankings/basketball-...etball-rpi

It is not good when our conference champion, Georgia State, with a conference record of 17-1 and an overall record of 24-7 can't receive 1 vote in any poll and has an RPI of 81.

Nothing against Georgia State, but I believe if WKU, UL, or ASU had that overall record, they would at least be receiving somes votes in the top 25. I could be wrong, I'm just basing it on past champions.

It looks like the SBC champ will be stuck as a 16th seed every year, which is hard to dig out of. It is nearly impossible to beat a 1 seed, so every year will be 1 and out. It just dont look good for the Sun Belt in the NCAA Tourney.

At least as an 11-13 seed you have a fighting chance. Its been downhill since WKU went to Sweet 16.

The NIT is beginning to look better every year. At least you have a chance to win some games and maybe go on a run, plus you could get some home games.

The SBC Champ will be at home watching other SBC teams still playing in the NIT.
