RE: WKU fans, best resteraunts near bowling green?
I know some smaller communities are having traffic issues, however today was one of the easiest drives into work I've had in a while in Nashville. Metro schools are cancelled for the day so a lot of people stayed home with their kids and besides the increased traffic into Nashville can't be any worse than what we have with CMA Fest.
I work on music row and we are having an Eclipse Party at my work.
RE: WKU fans, best resteraunts near bowling green?
You will have to go for montana grill because Smokey Pig is a family owned place that is closed on Sundays and Mondays. I don't imagine the eclipse would change them being open. But maybe if you are on your way back through on a Tuesday you can enjoy them. They have some of the best shoulder I have ever had.

I took the day off for the occasion and I'm glad I did. The eclipse was very cool and the interstate was bumper to bumper going north. So glad I don't have to be on it today.

It was so odd, it was still decently bright outside up to 99.9% then when it went to 100% it was like turning off the lights... incredible experience, we had over 2 mins in Totality

Got to spend the eclipse with wkuhilltopperfan, was a great time. Can't wait to hopefully make it an annual get together. Beautiful home and thank you so much for sharing it with us today!

I probably saw a dozen idiots on 7th staring at it. That'll still leave a mark.

We like good smoked barbecue, and woodfire grill type places, also a good steakhouse is never bad. Love local and unique places, price doesn't really matter.
Thanks in advance!
It's probably going to be tough to get in anywhere I would guess, but a place called double dogs is unique to this area and it's on the main drag aka scottsville road. Smokey Bones /Lost River Pizza company / Raftery's . This is one of the highest number of places to eat per population in the country.
We are getting a Double Dogs literally within walking distance of where I live in Lexington, cannot wait! I believe also there is one in Louisville now...
Wish I would have saw this thread before but if you want barbeque, defiantly cannot go wrong with Whitts Barbecue!
The eclipse was so overrated in Lexington, for sure thought it would be darker than it was, amazing what 5% does, just seemed to be a little more dimmer than usual...I should have just stayed in BG this past weekend...

Whitt's isn't even in the top 5 places to get BBQ in bowling green. They are not very good and have only gone even further down hill in recent years.
1. Smokey Pig
2. Split Tree
3. Jimmy D's
4. White Squirrel (they are not a place known for BBQ but have some stuff on menu that is outstanding)
5. Rockin Rick's BBQ

I know whitts is related to someone on here so I won't say anything about it.

Regarding the eclipse...I'm so happy I decided to go to BG to experience the totality. Was such a surreal experience and it was cool hearing the entire campus cheer as the final bit of light faded.
But that traffic leaving...awful. I waited several hours before I decided to leave and my commute back to Louisville (which is normally just under 2 hours) ended up being 6 hours

WOW! I live in Nashville and watched the eclipse from work and I didn't have any issues coming into work and it took only about an extra 5-10 min than normal to get home. Disclosure: I did leave work early around 3:30 and live only about 7 miles from work which is near downtown.

We got home at Midnight. Left at 2pm and it was a 5 hour drive normally. Traffic was insane
