Should be more balanced, actually.
Ideally, slightly more emphasis on passing, we are not there yet though.
The Neal Brown offense fluctuates based on who is playing well. When he was OC for Troy in 2008-2009, we would have running backs run for 200+ yards some games and not pass very much. Then the very next game you might see 400 yards passing and only 100 yards rushing.
The thing about this season is that Troy hasn't had to heavily rely on passing yet. The run game tore Austin Peay up, and then ripped Clemson a new one... although Troy had trouble passing against that monster Clemson defense... just like everyone has. The Southern Miss game probably would've involved more passing, but neither team was able to pass effectively in the pouring rain, so it was mainly a dual of running backs.
I think as soon as someone is able to stop Troy's running game is when you will see the passing playbook open up. You gotta remember, Neal Brown was OC at Texas Tech where he had the #6 pass offense in the nation... so he's definitely ready to pass the ball when the time comes.

#4 Passing offense in '09 at Troy. The only QB that threw for more yards than Levi Brown was Case Keenum. Troy wasn't chopped liver then...definitely not now either.

I think you need the right QB for that, and I am not sure Silvers is someone who might turn into a top NCAA passer. He is still struggling on third downs. Levi Brown was a pretty accurate passer but lacked mobility. We need a Haugabook type of player in this system, solid passing skills and very good mobility.

I assumed he's just messing around.
I would guess it was just a simple mistake. Spartans and Trojans are easy to mentally mix up and I would assume someone from Idaho isn't that familiar with Troy.
I stand by my original excuse: I was celebrating a Vandal win when I first posted this. Mea Culpa. No offense intended.
As for being familiar with Troy, absolutely. I was once stationed at Fort Benning, GA.
As for being from Idaho, I was born and raised in Seattle but got my B.S. from the UofI. I think I have been south of Lewiston maybe 15 times in my entire life.

So far most are predicating a close ten point game. What's everyone's thoughts?

Looks like there'll be a pretty good crowd and the Dome can get very loud when it's full, which should help. Idaho is better than last year, when we came out of Troy with the W. Then again, Troy looks a LOT better than last year and will come in confident and motivated.
IMO the odds are that Troy wins this one by a couple scores, but If Linehan plays the way he did in the 2nd half of the UNLV game, we can win.
Head: Troy 31-20
Heart: Idaho 24-20

This team is not cocky, but they do have an abundance of confidence.

Idaho is never a gimme...
If Idaho comes in guns blazing, Troy might be in trouble. I'm waiting for a team to stop Troy's run game so we'll be forced to pass. Nobody has really forced us to pass a bunch yet. I think the verdict is still out on how well Silvers is at QB this season.

Watching UW-Stanford tonight is making me feel better about Idaho's performance against the Huskies a few weeks ago. That's a damn good team in Seattle this year.
