Status of linebacker corps
So we all know that this group is very thin right now, but does anyone know what our actual 2-deep is?
Jason Sylva is still out with a foot/ankle injury, Eddie Rolle is still suspended, and now Austin Lewis is out for the season after knee surgery.
So who does that leave us? I assume Devon Brant, Grant DePalma and Trevor Ishmael are the starters? I saw Lucas Cherocci, Robert Spillane and Jakevin Jackson playing on 2nd team. Who do we have after that though? Has Caleb Bailey played at all?
I really hope these guys can stand up against VT. Brant is 5'10", DePalma 5'9", Cherocci 5'11". Lookin like a high school squad out there. Brant and DePalma are some hard-hitters though.
Can't afford any more injuries here either. Already have 2 walk-ons in the 2-deep.
Just my thoughts.

Yes, what is the story with Caleb Bailey? Mr. Drew, we were pretty excited about him 1-2 years ago...do you know where he's at in development?

He was initially the pride of the 2013 class (before we started playing games and Corey Davis stole our hearts), and then kinda fell off the map. Dunno what's going on there.

Some kids just don't live up to the expectations. It happens. Wouldn't be surprised to see a guy like Ronativous Atkins playing a little hybrid LB position if need be. Broncos have definitely been a little unlucky that the only roster attrition we have really seen has been to one particular position. However, this is what Fleck is trying to do with his recruiting (build better depth), and why he has been consistent in reminding us that WMU still has a long way to go.
