I'd been waiting all day for the VT/UNC match up. Imagine my disappointment to see a UNC/Duke basketball re-broadcast in the time slot. Sports in the age of Covid.

A great match tonight between #3 NCST and #8 VT.
It was decided in the last 10 seconds of the 3rd round of the last match by a nearfall forced by the VT wrestler that gave VT 1 extra point which decided the whole meet by the 4th tie breaker. The most drama I've ever seen in a real wrestling match. The refs and commentators could have done a better job telling us who won. Both teams were leaving, with VT celebrating, long before we heard the decision that VT won and how they won.

You know the ACC is having a bad men's basketball season when anyone in the ACC is talking about wrestling. I didn't even know the ACC sponsored wrestling until this season. I guess that's what happens when North Carolina and Duke play and both are unranked.

Well, it has more to do with the ACCN putting on ACC Wrestling every Friday night than anything else. I hadn't been much of a fan of Wrestling until the ACCN. VT has always been good to elite in wrestling but prior to the ACCN, I'd only seen 2 VT meets. Previously VT was in the same conference as WVU, but now that Pitt has joined, we have 6 teams and an ACC league.
The same thing applies to Women's basketball. I've never seen a live Women's game but now that VT is on almost every Thursday night I watch them every week. (It's not all the ACCN, MASN has discovered that if you put VT Women's basketball on, that enough viewers will watch it to make it worth their while.)
So now that the ACCN is here, VT fans can watch Men's BKB on Wednesday, Women's BKB Thursday, Wresting Friday, Men's BKB on Sat and Women's BKB on Sunday. It's a good time to be a VT sports fan.

I did post this thread to see if anyone else on this message board cares about ACC Wrestling especially after the last meet which had as much drama as any live wresting meet will have but since no one has responded, I won't start another thread on ACC Wrestling.

I follow it a little. My brothers all wrestled in HS and it is somewhat popular here in the Triangle. It's a hard sport to watch though.

I follow it. Our Freshman made a Freshman mistake and we lost the match. Not much to talk about. If you want to follow something live, they need to be wearing blue not shades of red or maroon.

It is and the poor coverage doesn't improve it much. Also, I don't know all the rules. I learned a couple of new ones Friday.
I figure it's worth dedicating a few 2 hour windows on Fridays a year.

I follow it. I come from a huge wrestling family. I got none of the family talent. My cousins wrestled at Lehigh and NC State.

Cool. There's a big match up between VT and Pitt this Friday on the ACCN. I'm surprised VT didn't jump any in the polls after defeating #3 NCST.

You were right. VT won by about that margin. However, VT's Olympic wrestler #1 M. Lewis lost for the first time in 29 matches. So, it wasn't all bad for Pitt.
