Is the NIU block logo on the helmet going to continue this season?
I want to see a Huskie dog on the f'n helmet.
How has the "NIU" branding worked out?

We used to have the coolest helmets in college football, not sure why we abandoned them though I suppose it was a misguided branding decison.

I hate the current dog with niu. Looks minor league. Logos, especially for universities, need to be historic. basic is better.

Whatever happened to this vintage huskie logo? I asked at the VCB if they sold anything with this logo but she said NIU stopped paying for the rights to use the logo. Always liked it.

I think it would look awesome on the helmets. At least for an alternate uniform look to go with the current Huskie logo. NC state brought back their old school logo and it’s great. Wish we did the same

I found a small decal of that logo about a year ago. I also found a larger one of the running dog with Northern Illinois University spelled out. Both are on my car. I can't even remember how long I got them.

This is what I want, and will put money down for. I wear my "new" NIU jacket with the doghead. I preferred my fighting Huskie one, but settled since it was no longer available.

Retro helmet decals are big right now- just swap it out for the number decals on the "road" helmet, pair it with the home uniform and you've got a nice homecoming look.

So NIU doesn't own the NIU logo of NIU, and can't put an NIU logo on NIU merchandise?

Somebody has to own it! If not, is it in the public domain? Can we get T-shirts and other stuff made wit it?
How can you not own one of your own historical logos? That was the logo when I was at NIU. It was never on a helmet, but it was on a ton of merchandise in the 1970s.
