Damn. Three Ohio teams among the top 8. With all three playing in separate conferences, the Selection Committee could have some seeding fun with that.

Wow...two guys have us number 2? That seems a bit high honestly...5 sounds just right and man does that look good to be that high in the rankings again! 04-cheers

It's insane to think that there are two schools in the same city of 300,000 people who are ranked together in the Top 5 and neither are a state flagship.

Thankfully one of those guys is Justin Jackson

UC could finish 32-2 and win both the AAC regular season and conference tourney and Seth Davis and Graham Couch would put the Bearcats in the 8-9 category.

In the interest of fairness in recognizing ridiculous rankings...someone needs to take away Jesse Newell's credentials. His rankings are all over the place!

UC also has one #1 vote in the Coaches' Poll. Just sayin'.

Where do you see the breakdown of ballots?

Wichita moved up to 19 in the AP, 18 in the Coaches.

Hopefully they keep winning until they run into a Bearcat Buzzsaw. Twice.

Seth Davis, Sunday during the selection show: I would move Cincinnati down to a 3-seed and Michigan St. up to a 2-seed.

Seth Davis, voting for the AP poll: Cincinnati is #8 overall.

Can't catch a break with some of these guys...

Well, it's mostly conjecture at this point anyway. UC can further challenge some of the doubters with two more wins this week. Tall order, but I'm beginning to believe this team is demonstrating they have a very high ceiling.

How good a team is and what seed they've earned aren't the same thing. I look at our Kenpom and BPI and I think we're a top 4 team and openly admit we shouldn't be a #1 seed at this point. The opposite of that is I don't have an issue with Xavier's seeding although their predictive analytic numbers say they're in the 10-15 range. Seeding is about what your resume says, not how good you are.

Final Destination!...

Sure, but, we still have the resume for a 2-seed. It doesn't make sense for someone to rank us #8 and then declare that we don't deserve a 2-seed.

I don't have historical information but I suspect a number of voters were beginning to question Villanova's rankings and seedings after a run of several excellent regular seasons for their program ended early in March Madness. When Jay Wright and company finally broke through for a national championship, the Wildcats starting getting more respect. Fair or not, it's often earned in the tournament.

Are we taking odds who it was? I highlighted a few favorites consisting of past opponents this year and former places of employment.

I'm good at #5. At least Dookie V. had us higher than #8. Just keep winning.

Fran would be my guess. The game here I have never seen a coach with such a forlorn look on his face like there was absolutely nothing he could do to change what was going down.
