A title IX complaint by an athlete probably assulted/raped by her coach's SON (who was also a KSU baseball player) that the Ao tried to interecede /coverup...AD's daughter has a paid internship in athletic department???? this has been going on since 2016!!! C'mon President Warren/ Board of Trustee's....we can do better....

Wow. That's really all I can muster at this point.

I would think Warren would have fired the AD long ago unless she thinks the case for the rape just isn’t valid and that Kent handled it properly. At least I would hope so. As far as giving his daughter a job in the Athletic Department, I think at the very least that was not very smart. As a student she has a right to have an internship but maybe finding one outside his department might have been a better thing to do. It just looks bad even if valid.

guys-my family is 3 generations of KSU graduates-I don't think we should tolerate any kind of assault etc on any student- I think at a minimum the AD tried to hide/minimize the situation as it involved a womens' softball player/men's baseball player/( and his mom)- who was the coach of the women"s softball program ( and was allowed to resign and left with a financial package)... I read all the stater articles about the events and I encourage all of you to do as well. I also spent time revieiwng the lawsuit filing ( which was attached to a stater article) and feel the university deserves better...

I don't know any details of his daughters internship, this is the first I'm hearing of it... But unless there's something shady I'm not getting out of this thread it seems like non-news. If she wants to get into sports administration getting her and internship outside of the athletic department doesn't make sense. And it's his daughter. What dad doesn't try to help his kids succeed?

I read the most recent article and the 600,000 number plastered in the headline becomes 200,000 actually spent. Typical reporting these days. A job on FoxNews or MSNBC is in the students future. I don’t why we can’t let the courts decide these issues. I trust that Warren has looked into it enough to be sure that this behavior isn’t rampant throughout the University and is willing to allow this incident to play out.

Story quite clearly said it was what the university had budgeted.

That's accurate, not sensationalized.

The story did but what was in the full page headline. Just one number 600,000. Fox News and MSNBC never lie they just hand pick their facts for their lead comments. Unfortunately most people don’t go any farther. I never said sensationalized just misleading at a glance. Besides that wasn’t my main point. There’s a story there but unless someone has proof that this type of behavior is rampant in the Athletic Department the court will decide what has happened. If Nielsen covered it up from Warren he will be gone soon enough. If they both covered it up to protect Kent’s reputation they will both be gone soon enough. If everything was done properly we all will have them for a few more years. I really think the court costs being budgeted and spent is pretty minor compared to the crimes that might have or have not been committed.

There definitely were no crime(s) committed because this has been a civil case all along. To me, that's the most interesting thing of this whole ordeal.

You are right they are not trying the rape just suing Kent for not meeting it’s Title 9 commitments. I was sloppy with my word choice. My guess is she doesn’t want go through the ordeal of a rape trial but wants some justice. If she wins though I’m sure Kent will pay a larger price then just court costs and whatever award she receives. There probably will be comparisons to Penn St and Michigan St. etc. With the mood of the country today I sure hope Kent has a sound case or it will get ugly. I just would like to see it settled in the courts and not Twitter etc.

Has anyone seen any developments with this case?

Not going back to read all the comments, but I think some people probably owe Joel a public apology.
