Ollie's replacement - stever20 - 01-17-2018 09:21 AM

If Ollie were to get canned after this season, who would be his replacement?

I wonder if Nova trounces UConn again- saw this stat that in the prior 20 years UConn has had 3 losses by 24+ points, or the same number as already just this year- if that might be it for him.

hopefully someone good....we should be top 3 in aac easily with the talent we have....maybe even knocking on the top 25 door.

in a perfect world I would want Greg Marshall. but I doubt he would come to UConn...maybe in the past, but definitely not now..

Is there a chance Ollie gets canned mid season?

Tubby Smith would be a great fit!

Nope, not happening. The #extendTubby train is chugging along full steam.

Choo-choo, mother[tr]uckers!!

Here is the blind resume of a coach with lots of head coaching experience who is available to replace Ollie:

Overall: 327-277 (.541)
3-Time OVC Coach of the Year
2 Regular Season OVC Championships
1 CIT Championship
2 NIT Appearances
3 CIT Appearances

He is only 51 years old. Plenty of good years left.

Pretty sure they don't want Lebo. 03-lmfao

Nothing like a four game conference win streak to anger the miserables

You forgot to mention his UNC pedigree, lol!

Why is it that often when Memphis beats a team in the AAC, their fans want to fire their coach? UC FB, ECU FB, UConn FB and BB, etc. 03-lmfao

They keep looking sillier every day. Just wait until we lose a game next time. They will all be back in full throat.

How about Dan Hurley or Tommy Amaker?

Yeah those are names I could see interested in the gig, not to mention who would be a strong fit for the program up there.

I feel like they're just going to be holding out for Duke with Capel. Amaker has it made up at Harvard...the dude is pulling in Top 25 recruiting classes left and right and doesn't have to deal with any idiots.

If UConn doesn't hire Marshall in February, I'm really going to begin to question this whole "flagship" thing.

Capel would be an intriguing hire.

Sorry, not exactly seeing the "talent." You have one shooter (Larrier), one guy that can create for himself (Adams) and zero guys that can get you a bucket off of a post up. That roster has gotten worse each year Ollie has been there. They need a total reset, in my opinion.

Yeah, I've wondered about this as well. At some point you have to quit using the recruiting service rankings of a high school player, and start using your eyeballs.
