Is the "cupcake" term ESPN uses on the non-elite teams played out? - luvyosef - 09-16-2017 10:59 AM

Not to mention offensive? Sorry and I know I'm in the minority but I am surprised more schools and coaches don't bombard these idiots. Last I looked, these coaches and kids work just as hard to win games as the "P5 ELITES" do.

I'm sorry but this just irks me.

Cupcakes are at all levels not just FBS. Sure they may work just as hard as P5 elites but the historical play of a school is such that they are a cupcake. Top G5 schools are not considered cupcakes. Also, certain conferences has that stigma like the Sunbelt I'm sorry to say.

It's still a demeaning term to use IMO.

ESPN using terms like cupcake, small-market, and P5 is their way of showing favoritism. I'm with you luvyosef, it is disrespectful.

I think "cupcake" is a perfectly acceptable term when playing non-elite teams like Nebraska.

If we all were, the Liberty Bowl would've been sold out.

Cupcake, Snowflake, both terms are overused.

Just another hour with somebody criticizing TWWL.

ESPN can rot.

ESPN have been treating Boise State, Eastern Washington and North Dakota State like very P5 teams for several years now. I guess it depends on who they think are cupcakes. They think Kansas is a cupcake team as well.

It's about as played out as the term "mid-major". Which is very played out.

Kansas is a full-sized cake right now.

Sadly East Carolina went from a Super G5 team to a powder puff team.

What exactly are you questioning here? Are you just harrassing him? Eastern Washington is a notable FCS school, is the red version of Boise.
