2018 women's basketball recruiting class - cschierh - 07-19-2017 08:17 PM

The Flashes so far have four verbal commitments from the class of 2018, and it's an impressive group.

It includes the top point guard in Massachusetts, a three-star forward from Strongsville, a 1,000-point scorer from Cortland, and a quick point guard from Solon.

Lots of detail on the blog at http://wbbflashes.com.

Post also includes the 2017-18 roster. Reserve point guards Taylor Parker and Paige Salisbury have left the team; neither contributed significant minutes last season.

Former coach Bob Lindsay will be inducted into the Varsity K Hall of Fame in September.

The women got a fifth verbal commitment for the Class of 2018, and she's probably the most impressive Kent recruit I've ever seen.

Her name is Hannah Young, a 5-10 wing from Brookville High School in Lynchburg, Virginia. She is a two-time first-team all stater and was player of the year in Class 3A in Virginia last season. She has scored 1,400 points -- and has a year of school to go.

In both the last two seasons, she's averaged about 19 points and 7 rebounds a game. She also led her team, which lost in the state semifinals, in steals and blocked shots.

She joins what looks like a terrific recruiting class. Other members are the top point guard in Massachusetts, a three-star forward from Strongsville, a 1,000-point scorer from Cortland and a quick point guard from Solon.

Full story on the blog at http://wbbflashes.com.

(KSU also got its first commitment from the Class of 2019 yesterday.)

Cschierh, thanks for all of the detailed info on the KSU Women's Bball team. Would have been nice to have McKenna Stephens for 1 more year this season, to have the 2 headed low post monster of her & Korinek. Will be interesting to see year 2 of Starkey and team, with the 5 incoming recruits and Mike McKee on the bench in place of Mashuda who was really never in Kent.
