He was burned a couple times against Miami and in an otherwise outstanding game against Tennessee once. Not sure about any times he was just beat after those games.

I expect to see our CB Monquavion Brinson on this or similar lists in years to come, he played great last year as a True Freshman.

I almost lost my bowl of chili on that play.I, drunk and sitting on the couch, was yelling "It's gonna be a bomb, it's gonna be a ******* bomb." when they called a TO on 4th down that late in the game. UGH.

It has to be the play of the year for sure. We didn't throw downfield that much last season. I expect that to change this year with two deep threats on the outside that we didn't have last season.

For what it's worth, it was a well called play with a lot of risk attached to it. I think we had two evenly matched squads, but I wouldn't be upset with anyone who says APP was the better team, or that APP deserved to win that night. You guys played great after trailing 14-0. If not for our freshman receiver mishandling the ball and an incredible strip by your defender, it could have been 21-0 early as we were driving pretty easily for a third score. You guys battled back to take the lead late in the game and the strip in the 1st QTR was what shifted the momentum. Much respect for you guys.

Our last two games have both had gut-wrenching endings for the losing team. Even so, APP vs TROY in 2015 was a moment of pride for me as we'd all realized Troy was back on the scene. One of my favorite games as a Troy fan.

Isn't the lower number better here?

Also, it's worth pointing out that some good corners can start every game and not defend 40 passes all season.

40 targets, not passes defended. 23 was the highest number of passes defended by any player.

Looks that way, but I doubt it. Minka Fitzpatrick and Blace Brown are tied for 7th in the country in interceptions. Parry Nickerson and Andre Chachere tied at 31st. Chachere is also 8th in passes defended. I can't imagine that QB's passer ratings are the best in the country when they face Chachere.

These are the five best in the nation in passer efficency rating against them. The lower your pas efficiency rating as a QB the worse it is for you and the better it is for the defense. So yes the the DB with the LOWEST number is the BEST in the nation in this category. The one with the HIGHEST is the FIFTH best in the country in this category.

Ah yes. My dumb*** was reading the chart backwards. Much obliged for the clarification. Still good company for our CBs.

A great man to man CB probably wouldn't have 40 targets. With so much zone play in college this seems like a fun meaningless offseason metric.
