Creative Ways to Increase Revenue - sfink16 - 07-04-2017 12:52 PM

Perhaps the athletic departments of all the AAC schools can find "legal" ways to gain revenue. Duke obviously bent the rules on gaining revenue outside of athletics.

It appears that Duke research received over $100 million in EPA grants. Problem was that the research was based on fake data according the inside whistle-blower and could amount to 3 times the grant in damages should Duke lose the case. The "fake data" person was eventually convicted of embezzlement.

UCFs AD is pushing a lot of innovative ways to create additional revenue while working with the realities of our fanbase.

One thing that i hope hope hope they develop, and have very subtly hinted at was full replay/archive of all in house recorded content including baseball, basketball, and football.

For a monthly fee they would provide access to this database, and allow unlimited replay as well as access to live recording not offered by ESPN.

Charge $15/month, by let's say 25,000 subscribers, and that's $4.5 mill per year. Maybe even make it a season ticket perk

$300 per year to watch old games? I don't think there is 25,000 who would pay that.

Getting the oil industry back would help Tulsa with donations at least. In the mean time we'll stick to bake sales at the gazebo.

Schools could all be doing more to monetize their back catalogs of film.

Since when does $15x12 = $300?

It's $180 per year for unlimited access of every game across every sport, and live access to soccer, volleyball, baseball (when not broadcast) and any other sport. I'd pay for that.

Compher hired this guy. We'll check back later to see how he's doing.

If we got any member states where weed is legal just sell it at football games with a 500% markup like beer. Plenty of revenue there.

Is Tulsa renting out the gazebo for gypsy weddings?

The starting rate for rentals is $400. $20 per hour extra if you want to have the dippin' dots for the reception.

$15/month for old game footage? Not enough subscribers for that. Only diehards would pay that.

Creative Ways to Increase Revenue - Pony94 - 07-05-2017 04:02 PM

I witnessed most of the games and have zero desired to relive them

RE: Creative Ways to Increase Revenue - invisiblehand - 07-05-2017 04:47 PM

I suggested the university holding a regional marching band competition early on a weekend (or even running through Thursday / Friday / Saturday Morning) and scheduling a football game later that Saturday. Parents around Tulsa will go out of there way to support there kids at those things. It's kind of ridiculous. If you charged 5 dollar admission to the band event, and each band admission ticket came with a couple free game tickets you could drum up attendance, concession revenue, and community involvement. It would be incredibly hard to organize between the local / regional high schools but I think it could be worth the time and effort. It's a good way to promote the University as a whole, and to get "new" fans to the games. Make sure to give some of the revenue from the earlier sessions to the schools' music programs of course.
