Happy Belated Birthday, Tubby - Tiger1983 - 07-04-2017 12:25 PM

Tubby turned 66 years old last Friday. Happy birthday! 03-thumbsup

When he was born; the USA had 48 states, Harry Truman was president, the average home cost was $9,000, the interstate system did not exist, the first commerical computer (UNIVAC) was used by the Census Bureau, the first H bomb test was conducted, and Willie Mays played his first game.

Happy birthday, tubby!

RE: Happy Belated Birthday, Tubby - Hernando Hills Tiger - 07-04-2017 06:54 PM

I turn 62 in 3 weeks. I do not have the fire for my job that I once did. Looking forward to retirement.

I don't make even remotely close to $3M per year but I know enough to surround myself with competent employees.

The AOB has lost me as a supporter for basketball after 47 years as a fan. Tubby is not the answer.

What a beautiful, heartwarming way to wish Tubby a happy birthday.

that's unfortunate...but how can you be a basketball fan for 47 years and just give up at 62? makes no sense

Do you enjoy football and Tiger Lane and stuff?

My strong advice to you is this - cause I'm so tired of all the negative rhetoric from names on this board I don't even recognize -

before you make a rash decision, why not try to contact AD Tom Bowen personally.....let him know your background and your apparent feelings

Then see what he says before you go off and not renew your bball tix

Tom is very direct yet forthcoming - I think he would appreciate it

I didn't renew this year after 15 years.

Week night games are tough for me with either the 6 or 9 o'clock games. The coaching situation with Josh and now tubby makes it hard for me to maintain my interest. I'll watch from TV if I have any interest.

RE: Happy Belated Birthday, Tubby - TIGERCITY - 07-04-2017 09:43 PM

I bought Tubby an eye mask for his afternoon naps -- also a pair of 'all purpose house slippers' for those occasions he hits the recruiting road. A cheap pair but they'll last.

I'm sure Tom reads this board and takes notes. I can only assume that's why some people post so much.

Sounds like that guy had an in depth conversation with Tom but came away with a different opinion.

HHT,

that's not the way I am suggesting to contact Bowen of course

that might not have been the best way to approach it - so don't do it like that guy....he appeared to be a smithering idiot

that's all

It's a bad look, breh.

A bad look.

I heard he had been drinking that day and was showing off for his friends. Probably tripping on hemp too.

I agree K2, good post. Happy birthday Tubby.

Great advice. People need to ask themselves what made them fall in love with being a tiger in the first place. If they are looking for the next golden age in tiger athletics, one only needs to turn to the football program. Better be there this fall or you could miss out on a great experience!

I can vouch for that guy

It wasn't hemp, it was the good stuff
