You're gonna have to build a second gazebo to store all your BCS/NY6 trophies and NCAA tourny banners 07-coffee3

True - not only did you 'win' but you did by a wide margin. Sort of the anti-ECU.

Zero points? Give the AD an extension!

No worries, unlike most of this conference we have gone to 5 new years day bowls in a row, and we'll just slide those 16 basketball comference championships banners and 16 NCAA banners down to make room 07-coffee3 no need for a new gazebo . . . Yet

Tulsa has gone to five New Year's Day bowls in a row?? Your definition of "New Year's Day bowls", and "in a row' must be totally different than most. Ha! Just saw in the 40s. That's funny. And we get accused of living in the past. lol

At least we didn't get the death penalty for our "success".

Right. We won a national championship, "went to" the Rose Bowl, multiple Cotton Bowls and had a Heisman Trophy wimner way before the death penalty/cheating/trying to keep up with the other schools cheating in the SWC in the late 70s, early 80s.

Tulsa talking all kinds of shizzle up in here.

Had we not been scheduling them in basketball the last 5 years or so, I'd have suspected they moved down to DII. They have literally zero presence in the national media. It's as if they don't even exist. Our winning margin over the last 5 years has been right around 20 - and that's with a gentlemen's agreement to let off the gas and put in the scrubs when the jugular's exposed.

P.S. I shouldn't say scrubs. WSU doesn't field scrubs.

Does a little Tulsa talk upset you? Sorry. Didn't mean to get your bushels in a bind.

You know I'm just glad there's another natural heated rivalry brewing for a conference member that had few real in conference rivals.

I propose the next adds to the conference be Villanova and app state with this reasoning.

I've never been more embarrassed to be an ECU fan. How did we give this clown a 5 year extension?

Nova could work for both Temple and UCONN so I'm all for that. It is nice to see natural rivals reunited for once.

You guys need to borrow the 'civil' trophy that UConn has and UCF refused. But first check out the storied history of this rivalry and trophy -- it'll be worth your time. This is who we are. :)

Its not Teh Rivalry, which us big enough to cover any lack of others. They dont have football and didnt poison TU players, but its a good one. I like the way the west shapes up, we have a true regional set up here, with only navy being too far to drive. Memphis, Houston are like 400 and 500 miles, wichita at 175, smu at 250, and tulane at 650.

We have past history with all of them and even played Navy
a bit before we were cconference mates.

Thats one reason i wanted VCU and Dayton with Wichita St,.to really tighten up the east geographically.

tulsa has been to 5 NY day bowl games in a row?? When was this?

Congrats on topping the conf in director cup standings but it looks like majority of points were earned in cross country and track and field. Not sure i'd be beating my chest about pulling the whole conference based on this lol.

1941-1945 Sun, Sugar, Sugar, Orange and Oil. Beat Texas Tech and Georgia Tech and lost to Tennessee, Georgia Tech, and Georgia.

ECU really brought this on themselves. Giving Ruff that extra year, after he played his previous season without his QBs was the right call. He would have had the Pirates in a bowl and then the complexion changes a bit.
He certainly hasn't suffered. Both Virginia and OU named him their Assistant Head Coach.
IMO, Ruff is the kind of alum that you graduate into the AD spot. For some reason, ECU just doesn't have anyone that bleeds purple - like Ruff - in command of the Pirate ship. There have just been too many questionable decisions that lack ECU's better interests.

This guy is missed... much like Bower was when Southern Miss cut him loose. Loyalty is too often overlooked these days.

These two have it.
