Both the Indiana and Ohio 2017 high school baseball players of the year are going to Ball State next season. The two are Drew Johnson, pitcher from Greenfield, Ind., and Kyle Nichols, pitcher from Jackson High in Massillon, Ohio. Current Cardinal pitcher John Baker was the 2016 Michigan high school player of the year. The rankings were made by the Prep Baseball Report, viewed as the No. 1 resource for high school baseball in America.
