Liberals can’t handle the truth.

Quote:A North Texas sheriff who criticized “the left” and “political correctness” in a Facebook post after Monday’s terror attack in Manchester, England, defended his comments Tuesday.

“I stand behind it,” Denton County Sheriff Tracy Murphree told NBC 5. “We need to be realistic about the world we live in.”

The Manchester bombing, which happened at the end of an Ariana Grande concert, left at least 22 dead, including an 8-year-old girl. The Islamic State group claimed responsibility for the attack, though an American intelligence official could not verify that, according to the Associated Press. Manchester police identified the bomber as 22-year-old Salman Abedi, a Britain native who died in the attack.

Murphree’s Facebook post about 10 p.m. Monday implored Americans to “pay attention to what is happening in Europe.”

“This is what happens when you disarm your citizens,” Murphree wrote. “When you open your borders without the proper vetting. When you allow political correctness to dictate how you respond to an enemy that wants to kill you. When you allow these radicals to travel to Afghanistan and Iran and simply let them back in.”

He later wrote, “You better wake up America. While you are distracted by the media and the crying of the left, Islamic Jihadist are among us and want to kill you.”

Sounds like a completely appropriate public service announcement.

Yep, lots of those complaining about it would be the very ones to complain he didn't do enough to protect them if a similar attack ever occurred locally.

Give that Sheriff a raise!

You are supposed to apologize, resign, and throw yourself into the eternal repentance pit if you day something like that.

Absolutely nothing wrong with it. What's wrong is the people who take issue with it.

The fact that he doesn't use logic. How does arming the public stop a bomb? Guy was native. How does open borders apply here? Not being politically correct will magically kill our enemies? Guess you support closing the border and letting no one leave or enter? Does that save us from the millions of murderers already living here? Wish I could live in this perfect fantasy world where nothing happens.

the fact that you dont use logic in your post is also whats wrong... by your logic, you want to accept thousands of potential terrorists just because we already have a "million murderers"? Yeah... thats some logic alright!

I've seen you use this same asinine train of thought several times and have yet to understand it. I hope that you only use it on here in your role as a troll and not in real life because I'd hate to be your family if you don't.

"Sorry kids, you have to contend with the leaking roof and the clogged up toilet because we can't afford to repaint the living room or replace the bedroom carpets so there's no need to make any effort anywhere else."

Using your convoluted version of "logic" we shouldn't prosecute people convicted of felony DUI because they killed someone because we can't stop fatal accidents where no impairment was involved.

Last time I checked, a wall and closed borders can't stop the spread of terrorism. Al Gore invented a thing called the internet. Maybe you've heard of it. Terrorist have made good use of it to spread hate. Other groups as well.

Yet in pursuit of this perfect world, we are actively warned against asking difficult questions about 21st-century society and why Islam has this inherent violence in it.

What about the favorite line of you leftists when it comes to guns

"If it saves just one life...."

So because we can't stop everything we should do nothing in your book? Got it.

I take it since this is your stance that since we can't cure AIDS that you see no need for health insurance. I mean if we can't stop one thing why make the effort anywhere else right?

An absolute asinine stance that again I hope you are only using on here in your role as a troll and not in real life.

I had the same response as cb. Your response itself is illogical - it's a non-sequitur.

In a different context, I completely agree with the Sheriff's point. In point of fact, there was a very recent terror attack (Hispanic immigrants were the target and the perpetrator appeared to by "Alt-Right") that was stopped cold by a CCL carrier.

That said, I cannot fathom how anyone thinks his response is logical. A suicide bombing can't be retroactively stopped by a CCL carrier. Unless the Sheriff is advocating pro-active shooting of anyone that looks Muslim, the statement just doesn't make sense in the context he used it.

I want to know where the stat for "millions of murderers" comes from. There are about 15,000 to 16,000 murders each year in the US, so that means for there to be even one million murderers in the US every single person that had committed a murder in the last 60 or so years would have to still be alive and that's only if none of those people committed more than one murder.

More accurately, there are probably around 200,000-250,000 murderers in the US and about 165,000 of those are currently incarcerated.

I wonder. What is the weapon of choice for all of these murderers?
