If 2023 AAC lands WVU, who will be rival #1? - Kruciff - 05-19-2017 07:59 AM

A bit of offseason polling.

this is possibly the dumbest poll I've ever seen here. In what fantasy scenario would WVU join the AAC?

höhnschen = "mocking rule" (according to Google translate). I smell sarcasm... 04-cheers

According to ECU's wikipedia site, WVU is already a quasi-rival. We play them this year which will be the 22nd meeting. Unfortunately, ECU has only beaten them 3 times and never in Morgantown so it's really a one-sided rivalry. That said, most of the recent matchups have been fairly competitive.

Btw, most ECU fans actually don't realize that ECU has already been in a conference with WVU for a few years when we replaced VT in the Southern Conference in 1965.

USF and Cincinnati. Two of the best old big East rivalries

When the Texahoma 4 vote to dissolve the Big 12 to join the PAC-16, ACC keeps it's doors closed and the SEC doesn't want them.

It would be cincy without a doubt IMO, those two teams were always battling for the BCS bid in the big east. i see UConn as a basketball rival. As for football no way, we only won one game vs west Virginia in football...lol.

I voted UC but ECU wouldn't be far behind with our history either.

Its no more or less fantasy than any other realignment scenario. In the even that the Big12 disbands, where would WVU go?

Pitt

Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh will be West Virginia's rival. Your rival does not have to be in the conference where you compete.

Texas A&M and Texas are rivals that do not play one another. WVU and Pitt haven't played each other recently.

When the Texahoma 4 vote to dissolve the Big 12 to join the PAC-16, ACC keeps it's doors closed and the SEC doesn't want them.

LMAO, first of all 4 others would have to vote to disolve. Even if that were to happen the leftovers will pick whoever they want out of the AAC. And most will fall all over themselves to join them. Rightfully so.

Worst case Baylor, TCU, Iowa State, Kansas State and WVU.

I'd rather join them than be with anybody in this league with the exception of Navy. I'm sure everybody else in here feels the same way, especially the western schools.

Better hope the scenario described comes to pass because I'm not so certain ECU would make it on the last lifeboat out to Big XII 2.0

I'm 99.9% positive that we wouldn't. I have no delusions about that. I'm just laying out what is more likely to happen. Your posts sound exactly like some of the tards in CUSA who were saying USF, Cincy and UConn would be joining.
