It's incredible that a group of fans feels so entitled that they live in absolute la la land and simply cannot accept the fact that their team lost a game. This also goes to show why WKU has such a hard time converting even casual fans from the BBN. The kool aid drinking is insane.
Here's a video that's been going around that supposedly "proves" that the officiating was rigged against UK:

Just turn the sound down. They used the obviously biased UK radio commentators for added effect. The very end is where it truly gets absurd.

Truly disgusting.
I watched the whole game and saw one or two calls that went against Kentucky that were questionable. At the same time, there were one or two that went against UNC that were also iffy. Overall number of fouls? UK - 19. UNC - 18. Seems pretty fair to me.
Note: Despite my username and location, I am not and have never been a Louisville fan.

I'm as far from a uk fan as you can get but anyone that watches that video and doesn't see the bad calls on ...well hell, every one in that clip was really bad calls. Both of those calls on Fox were bad and changed the flow of the first half. And the no call at the end of the half was ridiculous.
To be honest I hate UNC about as bad as uk so I wish both could have loss...but that was a one-sided called game and it wasn't close.
The goaltending call was really close so I can give the ref that call. But then again they missed one on UNC when the white kid missed the dunk and snapped the rim while the ball was over the basketball. Other than a clear dunk with the ball in your hand....
if you touch that rim while the ball is over it It's goal tending. The snap kept that ball from coming out. I'm OK with any of the other 3 winning this thing but I think UNC has too much talent

It was an interesting game for my parents in Bowling Green KY. My Step Dad is a huge Kentucky fan and my mom being from NC has always been a huge UNCheat fan
I have no dog in this fight as I don't care for KY and I hate UNCheat. I will say I watched the game with it being a show down between two of the all time great Basketball programs. It was like a heavyweight championship fight with each team exchanging blows. I thought some of the calls UNCheat got were absolutely horrible. I can definitely tell you that UNCheat fans are just as delusional as Kentucky fans and live in their own la la land especially the bandwagon Walheels as we call them or t shirt fans. I can promise you whenever they lose a big game there is just as much whining and excuse making. Heck the fact their fans excuse away the greatest Academic scandal in the history of NCAA which has still gone unpunished shows the hypocrisy of monumental proportions from a group who rallied behind the fairy tale of "The Carolina Way" for decades.

Not surprising. UK fans have and always will be the worst. It didn't help that Calapari started the post-game press conference by saying something like "amazing we were in the game when you look at how the refs went after us."
Bad officiating is a part of every game in every sport at every level. Deal with it.

LIving in Lexington, life is so much easier when UK goes down....I am just glad it over, all I hear about is how UK gets cheated, they are still talking about how the brackets were rigged against them...Something I have to deal with every day and these fans I work with are the reasonable kind compared to most haha...

Basketball officiating has THE most inconsistent officiating in any sport. That's really the reason why I don't follow it as much as I used to...players travel/carry/over-under/commit fouls so much these day it's freaking ridiculous and refs never call it.

There was definitely poor officiating in this game (as in most games), but it was both ways. The fact that UK fans believe someone was conspiring against them and they are trying to bring down his whole livelihood is what blows my mind.

First point, and no I'm not a U.K. Fan. I also live in Lexington and watched some of the game with friends from church.
There were questionable calls that I felt threw off some of the tempo, but you get that in any basketball game. Nothing that couldn't be overcome.

Second point. Yes, living amongst UK fans they are certainly very proud and entitled. And that gets annoying.
I lump them into the same category ilk of New England Patriots, ST Louis Cardinals, New York Yankees...very much entitled and spoiled to a degree.
But I wouldn't call them "worst fans" at all. WVU fans hold that title, and are the reigning champions of douchery. This isn't even a close debate.

I know, I was an intramural ref for college and youth sports. It sucks.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying makes them the worst fans. Not just the fact they blame it on the officials.

Since I only saw the calls on this video with a Kentucky bias slant and none with the NC slant, I can't make a comment either way. There was no call on the video that was obviously bad either way. I didn't watch the game, but I don't like either team. Glad one of them was knocked out. I take that back, it was obvious that the NC guy ran over the Kentucky guy and should have got a charge.

I only watched the second half of Kane vs. The Undertaker...I mean uk vs unc. I saw some bad officiating on both ends. I saw the refs swallow the whistles down the stretch for the most part and let the game actually look like Kane vs Undertaker.
I was stationed in Jacksonville NC for 2 and a half years. I learned to detest UNC. I never stopped hating them unless they were playing UK. Well, now I still hate them only I hate UK more.
You just can't escape their fans around here. It was bad always but with the success that Cal has had on the recruiting trail you hear their gas all year long now. I kind of hold my breath every NCAA tourney every year until someone does me the favor of putting them out.
So now I can enjoy a little schaudenfraude reading them cry.
Make no mistake, UNC fans are obnoxious as hell. Just like Tennessee football fans or Florida Gator football fans. I've been surrounded by all of those at one time in my life. But right now I live amongst the UK fans. So I don't care if that ref had a mortgage payment on that game and screwed Kentucky like an escort at an Accounting convention in Vegas. I'm just glad they lost.
