He should have retired in South Florida years ago, like Jim Larranaga.

I wonder if he has another year left in him. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he decided to retire this year rather than next year.

With Wegmans coming to Cary, maybe he's interested in the NCSU job.

Congrats on the win. The Big East announcers were a nice touch.

Does anyone else find it odd that Boeheim criticizes Greensboro when the city which he lives is dying?

He just doesn't like the excess travel. I firmly believe had they stayed put in the BE he'd coach another 5 years.

Agree. I just haven't seen any upside in Syracuse joining the ACC. The Big East is STILL a better fit for them in the long run. Boston College really hasn't worked out either.

I agree 82. Too bad academics were an issue with WVU.
The geographies of the super conferences are out of control. I'd guess though the money made > ridiculous travel otherwise they wouldn't do it. I wonder what kind of negative effect it has though on the student athlete with all the missed class time. I really liked having a 1 and 1A in the haydays of the ACC ane BE. Now it's the ACC and everyone else.

He mentioned a few weeks ago that he was reconsidering coaching next year.

Louisville will likely come back to beat Jacksonville State, but I am shocked at the people that have them in the Final Four, and some have them winning the championship.

They can't shoot, which is kind of important in basketball.

I doubt many put too much effort beyond the name on a jersey but Louisville is not a terrible choice to go far. They are 1 of a select few who meet the criteria of the past 7 champions (top 15 defense, top 25 SOS). They also meet top 50 in offense, regardless that they cant shoot.

I have them going far in plenty but they were certainly a team I was super hesitant on, but the numbers don't lie, and they are one of the smart analytical picks.

I don't like anyone to upset them in their bracket. I think their size in athleticism is enough for them to get by everyone except KU, including Baylor. Duke gave everyone the blueprint to beat Louisville. Play zone and put them on the line when their (athletic) guards penetrate. Free-throw shooting will hurt them as well.

Washington just hired Mike Hopkins as their HC. He was the shoe in to take over for Jimmy at Cuse. WOW! What a development!

Syracuse just isn't a great job anymore. Similar problem NC State has/had. Until Coach K retires, navigating the ACC at a less than stellar spot on the map just isn't at all ideal.

They have 2 final 4's in the last 5 years. Not even in the same breath as State as far as the shittiness of the job. Cuse fans didn't call for Jimmy's head after a few bad years. Not many schools can say that. I do agree with the Geographical challenges.

Boeheim had a lot more latitude than his replacement will have. Boeheim made the program what it is. But it's hard to replace a legend.

Louisville is garbage.

Escaped that one Bricks not sure how you can have a no call in that situation it's a travel 1, charge 2, block 3 but you have to call something. That completely changed the complexion of the last minute of the game.

Btw, remember all the people that told me that SC was garbage early in the season..... jus sayin

RE: NCAA/NIT Tournaments - bricksnivy - 03-19-2017 08:19 PM

I don't think I said SCar was garbage, but I could be wrong. I think I only saw them play against Clemson this year.

Carolina was fortunate for sure. Jackson AND Berry had rougn offensive nights, and Arkansas played their hearts out (forgive the over-used, simplistic analysis). They could've called a push on the primary defender too, but it was probably something. I disagree that that was the specific play that changed the game. Carolina's defense the last 3:30 was the difference, but they were definitely fortunate.

ACC has had a really poor showing in the tournament. Hopefully, they only have one S16 team.

NCAA/NIT Tournaments - Seahawkhoops - 03-19-2017 09:11 PM

I wasn't calling you out on the SC comments it was about 4 others.

That no call completely changed the complexion of the last minute of the game. Instead of Arkansas getting the ball down 1 with 45 seconds left they are now down three, HUGE difference. Unc did play very good D down the stretch and unfortunately we will never know what would have happened with the correct call. Either way, live to play another day

RE: NCAA/NIT Tournaments - SEA33HAWK - 03-19-2017 09:34 PM

Being a Clemson fan since before there was a UNCW, M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-C will always be garbage. ?

I hear ya. I honestly don't know what SHOULD have been called. Could've called a hand-check or a block on Arkansas, or could've called a charge on Carolina. It was definitely a walk, that I'm certain.
