What was that? UB-KSU game - RocketJeff - 03-10-2017 08:28 AM

Is there such bad blood between these teams that the refs thought they had to get in front of it? Painful to watch.

RE: What was that? UB-KSU game - BullBoy - 03-10-2017 09:07 AM

They are the two most physical teams in the league. There have been some technicals but I wouldn't call it bad blood. Too many whistles on both ends and neither team was able to play with any flow.

I'd say this is spot on. And as ugly as it was it was still a fun game to watch. Both teams really took it hard to the hole. Buffalo fell into what I call the bad AAU offense. Good penetration but almost never looked to kick it out like they did last year. Too many contested shots.

Nah. It was a well officiated game. At least that's what the idiots from all the Ohio schools on this board tell me.

I even posted all the times of the horrible calls in the first half and nobody wanted to debate the calls and instead attacked me as usual.

Dude give it a rest. Bad calls happens to both sides every game its not a conspiracy against buffalo. Why would that even make sense?

Kent State fans don't want to debate this because we're afraid we'll lose the debate and Buffalo will get 4 points added to their score, and the game will be changed over to Buffalo winning.

Dude why do you even care because it's obvious that you from your profile name your a Syracuse fan. Also the fact that you ***** 24/7 over officiating ruins credibility and proves you have not one ounce of objectivity.

It says I root for Syracuse and Buffalo. Can you not read (rhetorical question)?

And with good reason I've complained a lot. When the officiating is horrendous I will.

Buffalo finished 347th in the nation out of 351 teams in fouls committed this year.

I put the times up for calls I thought were absolutely wrong. If you're not going to watch the game and tell me what you saw on those plays then you have no validity to your posts. I even stopped with 7 minutes left in the first half because it was that bad.

By the way, this thread was started by a Toledo fan who also noticed the awful officiating in this game.

Yes, but the slight difference is that the RocketJeff noted that there were too many whistles [period], not that there were too many whistles only on UB and that it was some kind of multi-season grand conspiracy enacted in a smoke-filled back room by the MAC with the nefarious purpose of sabotaging the UB hoops dynasty.

I personally think Jeremy Guy is behind it all... that guy is just downright shady.

So does that mean that every official for every game Buffalo played this year was out to get them?

Or maybe it means Buffalo players don't understand the rules.

Sounds to me like Buffalo fouls to much. The fact that UB ranks 347 out of 351 speaks volumes. Either it is an NCAA conspiracy against Buffalo or maybe they just play poor defense. Perhaps you should complain about your teams inability to stay out of foul trouble instead of blaming the refs.. I don't care if your profile does say "I root for Buffalo" it's obvious your true love is Syracuse.

735 fouls over 32 games.... or an average of 23 per game.

I will say though there is some truth to the fact teams from Ohio have been known to get preferential treatment in this conference.

Why are you sticking up for the refs? We Ohio guys are screwing BSU, too. 03-wink

RE: What was that? UB-KSU game - BullBoy - 03-11-2017 11:25 AM

Here is the problem with officiating and we saw it again last night with Kent St. and Ohio a little bit. The MAC and the Big Ten use the same officials and they run their conference tournaments at the same time, so the MAC is only getting refs that are deemed unfit for the Big Ten...Move the MAC Tournament up a week and you will get better officials.
