Sorry, but you're perspective is not accurate. Prior to the exodus of Houston, ECU, UCF and Tulane, the conference was one of the Big 5 baseball conferences (along with SEC, ACC, PAC-12, Big 12 and Big West), but it has slipped badly the past 4 - 5 years. Last year was a bit better (largely because both the Big 10 and AAC had down years), but you cannot rely on the CUSA schedule if you hope to have a Top 35 - 40 RPI, which is required if you hope to be in the running for an at-large bid to the Road to Omaha.

Tech will just have to sweep Rice again. So make sure yall are top 15 when we play y'all.

LOL 03-lmfao What's the matter? Don't you appreciate being lectured by a Rice fan?

Guy is obviously upset Tech beat them last year! I mean it was the like the first time ever or something along those lines that Rice had been swept by a cusa team (probably by any team). So don't worry, it most likely won't happen again. I would love for Tech to get a home series vs some SEC, BIG 12 team, or some of the better programs in the area but we just aren't there yet.

Stanford at Rice (3/09-3/12)
Southern Miss at ULL (3/10-3/12)
Charlotte at ECU (3/10-3/12)

Tech is hosting Arkansas in a midweek 2 game "series"

I hope in the future we can get a weekend series with SELA, Tulane, or ULL. If Tech baseball can show they are for real about baseball this season then we may see something like that.

Agreed. A rotating weekend series each year with Laffy would be good for our RPI and attract plenty of fans from both sides. But as you said, we have to prove we are for real in baseball because it appears, for the Laffy coach, scheduling is all about RPI. He does a great job every year of positioning his squad for the post season.

1. Memphis (home/Away) Mar. 7 & 8
2. Indiana (Away) Mar. 10, 11, & 12
3. Tennessee (Home/Away) Mar. 14, April 4
4. Vanderbilt (Home/Away) April 18, May 16
5. Northwestern (Home) Feb 24

We may really stink! But, I'll get back with you on that All Conference Stuff and the Team Rankings after we sweep you in that 3 game Home Stand in late April.05-stirthepot

Any thoughts about the possible repeal of the 25% scholly rule?

D1 reporting that the coaches are very much behind it.

RE: 2017 CUSA Baseball - BeagleUSM - 01-06-2017 10:39 PM

Did a little research on this, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Seems to me that getting rid of the 25% minimum will help SEC/Big12/PAC/ACC schools and to a lesser extent, schools in "tweener" leagues such as CUSA or AAC.

For example, you might have a situation where someone like a Presbyterian or USC Upstate offers a player 30-35% vs walking on at Clemson or South Carolina. So now CU/USC can offer 10-15% which could maybe sway a guy.

On a somewhat smaller scale, you could have Central Arkansas or Jacksonville State offering 40% to a guy vs Tulane or USM offering nothing. With this rule change, Tulane/USM could offer 15-20% and maybe steal a guy that would rather play CUSA/AAC ball over Southland/OVC for a little less money.

Rice #21 in the PG poll out today.

Any idea when BeIN will announce the 12 baseball games that are being televised?

I don't think the video board was too much of the planned ~$10 million in renovations. Plans were already shown to the donors in the RBI club apparently.

FAU also plays some meaningful OOC competition in this time frame:

03/03 - 03/05 vs. Illinois

And sandwiched between those is a mid-week game vs. Miami.
