You know - I am thinking we should cancel culture this thread......

It is glamorizing actors and athletes - lots of people die every day who lived a life too.

These privileged folk had pretty good lives with decent bank accounts some fame and notariety ....

This week in my town a local gentleman passed who was 77, he had a wife and 3 kids and now 4 grandchildren. He worked in the local mill - 40 hours a week for 35 year to keep his family fed and clothed - great guy. Worked his azz off, and lived almost check to check his whole life. He never complained and always had a smile and warm greeting to anyone he met.

The movie came out 35 years ago which would make him 50, but it took 2 years to film which would make him 48 at the time filming started. He also played the grandfather in the Ewok Adventures movies.

Mostly local to those in Michigan sports radio, but by all accounts, this was one of the nicest guys in the entire industry. Taken way too soon at 48, leaving behind a wife and 3 kids.

Damn, that was a trip down memory lane. Driving to Assateague with boards sticking out of the back seat, soft top off, Hatchet or Airplane blaring from the pioneer cassette player.
