Quote:The 17 people who US president-elect Donald Trump has selected for his cabinet or for posts with cabinet rank have well over $9.5 billion in combined wealth, with several positions still unfilled. This collection of wealth is greater than that of the 43 million least wealthy American households combined—over one third of the 126 million households total in the US.
...
It is worth noting that almost 13% of American households have zero or negative wealth because of debt, so we are adding together these households with those that have at least some wealth.
Even if we just compare the wealth of Trump’s cabinet to the median household, it is still an impressive concentration of riches. It would take about 120,000 households with the the United States median net worth of about $83,200 to match the wealth of just the four richest members of Trump’s cabinet—Betsy DeVos, Wilbur Ross Jr., Linda McMahon, and Rex Tillerson.

Trump Supporter: "They are successful business people, thats why they are so rich.. we should have them running our goverment"

Friend of reddit said it well: I find it strange when people think that good businessmen would make good political leaders... and yet business and the state often have opposite goals: one is entirely self-interest and one is intended to be for the common interest.
If we lose this balance and all power is concentrated in the hands of self-interest, I think we'll be ******.

Drain the swamp and fill it with ****.

This is a common misconception. Businesses succeed by serving the public, by providing something of value in return for money. Government takes money in return for nothing, and uses that money to entrench its power. I would agree that the two are different, but not in the way this friend suggests.

Think JD posted this in the the WWE because he can't post here due to an election ban bet. You shut him out of his topic moving it here.

Government run by politicians has been on a downward slide for quite a while. I'm all for seeing what successful businessmen can do for 4 or 8 years.

So people in Trump's cabinet made their money outside of politics, instead of making money because of their position in politics. Sounds like a breath of fresh air.

And liberal heroes Bill Gates and Warren Buffett have 10 times more money than these 17 combined and both had the ear of Obama. News flash, there's some really rich people out there and they aren't bad people to get advice from.

I don't know, although JD seems to have thought so. Also, why was it moved? It still doesn't change the fact that I knew JD would never hold up his end of the bet.

Yep. Just like all those lib celebrities that were going to leave the country if Trump won. Last I heard, the number that have left or plan to leave is zero. Libs rung their mouths and never back it up, so no surprise here.

(Shouldn't his post be removed based on the terms of his bet.)

I would think it would have to be determined if he can or can't post in the WWE before saying he did or didn't welch on his bet. I would think it only covered here. Wasn't a board ban so should only cover this specific section.

Don't recall the terms though.

JD has confirmed he is not posting in the main Spin Room. It's his decision where and when to post as he's not banned by moderators from either room.

Just so I'm understanding since it's not a mod ban he'll post wherever? That's a little messed up.
