That land bridge is going to be amazing to see. After decades of dealing with those RR tracks, it's a sea change for the campus.

I remember many a day of racing that train to get to class on time.

The RR track is why we aren't in the BigXII

$60 million for a rec center?

While nice, it could've been a heckuva down payment on an OCS.

When are they starting the land bridge or have they already started it? I wonder what kind of approvals they have to get from the company that owns that track?

I heard it was because we lost the sno-cone machine.

Nice investment by the University. An impressive rec center can help immensely in recruiting possible students to your university.

It's almost done. The base of it and fence are up and they've laid down sod on both sides of the tracks

How many of you hopped on the train and off again on the other side? I did it many times. I loved doing that.

Saw some students do that while there but it always looked like a death wish to me...

I know someone who hopped on an eastbound train drunk and couldn't get off until they were an hour outside the city

I was at the G'town commissary one night and all of the sudden a bunch of police and first responders showed up. Some kid had tried that on a slow moving train on the tracks that run behind the restaurant and fell and lost his leg.

The new rec center looks nice.

Apparently though we're losing the outdoor pool and diving pit.

(By outdoor pool I mean a lap pool. The pic looks to include a pool but not rectangular.)

I remember quite a few visits as a kid with my dad to the pool.

How will the size of the indoor pool compare to the current pool?

Ages ago when one was late for class, one would say train to the professor.

One of my professors posted a train schedule on the wall.

Mostly that was the end of excuses.
