Every player should be allowed to transfer immediately without punishment.

Time to see if football is the real deal in Waco or the past few years were just an anomaly. Couldn't be a better day for all the non Baylor Texas schools.

Well, not EVERY player

I hope Art Brilles never coaches again if the findings are 100% true. What kind of scum bag does nothing in response to sexually assault charges. I have a daughter in college so I might be a little bias but I think if Brilles did nothing or worse covered up sexual assault charges then he should be tried as an accessory to any rape/sexual assault charges. A coach that looks the other way in a rape case so a football player can stay on the team deserves to spend a day in the Texas state penitentiary.

Unbelievable that someone would be more concerned with the players than the victims of sexual assault.

No they shouldn't...

You commit to a SCHOOL not to a coach.

ESPN reporting he has been let go. Would Monken be a candidate? Brohm?

At some places, turning a blind eye to sexual assault cases gets you 30+ years of job security and a statue outside the stadium.

Possibly, Briles and Monken are cut from the same cloth, win at any cost type coach.

Last year against Ok State, Briles had one of his defensive backs fake an injury and Herbstreitt call him out on National TV

It was just last year some on here were praising Briles......

It has started.. Don't know if it is allowed this time of year but Tech coaches better be on top of the player fallout from Baylor

If you are old enough (like me), you can truly appreciate the irony that Ken Starr is the president of a school involved in sexual abuse scandals.

I wonder if the NCAA could find the guts to go after a P5; UNC comes to mind as a no...anciently SMU makes me think yes...Penn State might be a yes and a no...now if these horrific findings had been at a G5, Thor's hammer of sanctions would crush the school.
50-80 schollys reduction over 5 years sounds like a good start. 10-18 a year would get the point imprinted.

A sinister idea just came to me; what impact on Big 12 membership for Baylor and/or expansion of that conference could be the law of unintended consequences? Will Texas and Oklahoma find this a fig leaf to distance themselves of their conference mates.

What does their (Baylor's) religious affiliation say about all this?

No it's good for them. Recruiting and for an easy win like it was against Baylor the previous 80 years in the SWC

Same kind of horrendous behavior has gone on at FSU and Tennessee of late.

RE: OT: Baylor fb coach Briles suspended and soon to be fired - HeadsetGuy - 05-26-2016 02:58 PM

between CTE, concussions and permissive abusive cultures, a likelihood of dramatic changes to sports may emerge.
Advertisers and pressure groups will be heard from before long.

I haven't watched (saved the Super Commercials and a little football Bowl) a NFL game in 5 years...defenders laying out defenseless receivers; headshots instead of proper tackling; and the too small rosters (with too long of a season) forces hurt players onto the field for more punishment.

I can't imagine any Baylor Bear alum is walking proud today; I have two daughters heading to college in the next two freshmen classes...by no means would I let my girls attend an university with documented predators being shielded by the school.

Another one that might be on their short list possibly is Blake Anderson from Arkansas St. He started is collegiate playing career at Baylor so there could be some interest there. I believe he was born in Jonesboro which is where he is now but surely if a P5 came calling with the $$$ he would listen. Plus his initial buyout of $5 million (give or take $1 million) when he was hired shrinks after each season. The timing would be brutal and would he want to walk into that situation though probably keeps him away.

UTSA plays Baylor in San Antonio and in Waco over the next few years

Here's to having the Roadrunners winning twice by 50
