2017 Home games vs P5 - billybobby777 - 05-22-2016 09:41 AM

As time goes forward getting P5 schools to your schools On Campus Stadium is vital.
The AAC has been scheduling well in this regard. ESPN contract helping perhaps?
2017 Home games vs P5:
AAC: 7: VT@ECU, Texas Tech@Houston, UCLA@Memphis, Georgia Tech@UCF, BC@Uconn, Missouri@Uconn, Illinois@USF
CUSA: 5: Arizona@UTEP, Kentucky@Southern Miss, North Carolina@Old Dominion, Vanderbilt@MTSU, Miss St@Louisiana Tech
MWC: 4: Virginia@Boise St, Oregon St@Colorado St, Stanford@San Diego St, Oregon@Wyoming
Sun Belt: 2: Wake@App St, Miami@Arky St
MAC: 2: BC@NIU, Kansas@Ohio

*I'm not counting the BYU games at the MWC (4) and the game ECU is hosting this year. Or Army home games or Rice vs Standord in Australia

Yep. I'm basing this off 2017 and AAC, MWC, MAC and SB with 12 and CUSA 14 in 2017.

I don't think is just the espn exposure helping the AAC land some quality opponents to it's campuses but also the stregnth this league provides as been the 6th best FBS conference to scheduling.

Yeah, could be. Also, another note, I've noticed the MWC isn't getting the PAC home games they used to. Air Force, Hawaii and New Mexico have historically gotten good P5 schools on their home schedules for a few examples. Texas Tech and NM used to play every year. Looking ahead Boise has some good gets. Florida St, Michigan St the Washington and Oregon schools are traveling to Boise. But Boise's home games are on ESPN, not CBS-SN. That tv deal with CBS has really been bad for the MWC. Actually, it's been terrible. It's costing them home games with their P5 neighbors.

In all fairness the MWC signed a very bad deal with CBS-SN in 2004 that started before Boise joined. The vast majority of MWC games will be played on CBS-SN for 13 years before their contract ends. 2006-2019 are the football years of the CBS-SN/MWC contract. They took a chance by starting the MTN and excluding ESPN. It's been very bad for them.

So you think I intentionally misrepresented the AAC board when I originally made these threads showing future schedules? You do realize my threads weren't created today? That games have been added, dropped, moved rescheduled etc. I'll update my list. I created these threads with future schedules and have been editing them as new developments occur. I'll add these to the list. I'd thank you for the update like I do for others who've kindly told me about a new game scheduled, but the "misreprentation" cheap shot has left a sour taste.

Cheers!

LOL..... billybobby777 Wrote: "I created these threads with future schedules and have been editing them as new developments occur". The fact is this list / thread was started on May 22, 2016 and there have been NO new games added to the CUSA schedule during or after from the time this thread was created. When you post references or statements that clearly are incorrect and than flaunt it with a challenge such as "Again, be careful what you complain about" it comes across as a "cheap shot". However, the number Is 6 CUSA games in 2017 and this is not an update of information, what you posted was incorrect. When you assume the responsibility to post statistic, I feel you have an obligation to get it right "facts matter". 04-cheers

Read through each of these future schedule threads over the past few months. See the posts where someone has alerted me to a game I missed, and I thanked them for it. I didn't even count the Navy/ND games every other year originally; now I'm accused of being an AAC homer dissing CUSA. You are a real a$$hole.

I'm bumping this to get more info. On the future college football schedule there are several schools, MWC schools in particular, showing only 3 OOC games. There are teams that due to the Hawaii exception, can schedule 2 more OOC games next year. Any updates on schedules for next year that I've missed?
Cheers!

RE: 2017 Home games vs P5 - fanhood - 11-16-2016 10:34 AM

Teams are getting Home and Homes quite a bit now, since the payout games are so expensive. Unless you are a team that makes significant revenue through ticket sales and concessions, it does not make sense to pay a team $800,000 for a visit when you can just do a Home and Home.

Aztec fans are pumped to have Stanford travel to Aztec Warrior Stadium next season.

Here is the P5 schedule for 2017. Wilkie asked for it.
