Cal's name wasn't mentioned with the Laker's job this time. Since he wanted % of the ownership, no wonder they passed. The Lakers aren't going to do that with a coach. They don't have to. It will be a great day when Cal gets out of the college game.
One article stated JP got over 100 texts about the hire and asked him if he could help get them a job with the Lakers. But no interest working at GT...hmmm.

Because he was made an assistant coach while waiting for the NBA lockout to end. It was a mockery of the position. He was getting a paycheck while waiting for his real paycheck to come while we had a coach who sucked at coaching. There could have been a better option.

Name a coach that has been on the staff in the last 7 years that has made any difference. It all just looked the same. Same lack of execution, lack of block outs, lack of setting effective picks and screens, poor decisions with the ball, poor shot selection. Just lather, rinse, repeat.
