Nice vintage GS-App game clip at 0:20. That must've been from the early 90s or so.

great video, but got to be honest, if I never see another Michigan highlight that's just fine with me, love my mountaineers, but man, its time to put the Michigan win to rest.

1996. Bake Baker, a unknown QB who had thrown 1 incomplete pass the entire year, comes in the during 4th quarter and goes 8-10 for 159 yards and two TD's. The game winner comming with 3:00 left. Giving birth to the legend of Bake Baker The Touchdown Maker.

While Old School App fans enjoyed tearing down goal posts after defeating the upstart Eagles on more than one occasion, the Michigan win is THE signature win that introduced the back-to-back FCS National Champions to the College Football masses. Prior to 2005, App State was a close-but-no-cigar "good team" that would give you a tough game.

While I agree our folks do continue to go a little overboard on the Michigan win, the video highlighted some big moments of the past. It is only fitting the most important win in App's history, not to mention the history of 1-AA / FCS and arguably the biggest college football upset of all time, should be apart of it.

Don't give your Eagles too much credit there. The students didn't take down the goal posts just for Ga Southern. It became a quasi-tradition after any top ten team went down. BTW, that would Back-to-Back-to-Back National Champions! 04-rock

Technically he's right. At the time you beat Michigan you were introduced as back-to-back FCS National Champions because you hadn't won your third yet.

I disagree. These videos aren't made for die-hard message-board fans, they are for marketing the team and the more casual fans, and it's a no-brainer to bring that win into any video showing App State football over the years.

I don't talk about beating Florida incessantly and even our biggest homer fans don't either, but I recognize that win has brought more notoriety (at least in SEC country) than any national championship so if we're going to have promotional videos yeah I think that should be included. A lot of the more casual fans aren't going to know Florida in 2013 was 4-8 with lots of injuries or that Michigan was obliterated by Oregon the week after they lost to App. You milk these things as much as you can regardless.

Also, like App or hate them, that clip of Corey Lynch blocking the field goal and David Jackson screaming should give at least a little chill to anyone who roots for the little guys in college football.

Anytime I need a laugh, I call up the GaSo/Florida game just to see the two Florida guys blocking one-another. Classic.

I put that photo on the wall outside our studios as one of the all time great sports blunders. Also included the Mark Sanchez butt fumble, Jason Kidd's "accidental" drink spill, and one where a goal was scored when the puck went down the goalie's pants and he backed into the crease. Lol, I love it.
