Here's an Ohio kid I've seen play that I would like to see UC get an early jump on recruiting.

Andre Gordon
6'1" PG

Has all the skills necessary to be an elite PG except he needs improvement on his perimeter shot. He has a nice looking shot but he's just not consistent and being the best player on his team he takes alot of bad shots so his shooting percentage would be better if he didn't need to shoot so much. Great ball handler, vision, passer, lock down defender, and extreme athleticism.

Damn, that kid sure looks like a high major talent to me.

The spin move at around 3:05 mark was beautiful.

He pushes and attacks the rim, that's all I needed to see.

Mick should be able to fix that.

He's got a 96 rating on 247, making him a solid 4 star. Cincinnati, Florida, and Pitt are his best offers thus far.

Why does he have three different rankings? 75, 91, and 109?

75: composite national rank, taking 247Sports, ESPN, Rivals, etc. ratings into account
91: 247Sports' rating
109: 247Sports' national rank

On some sites, we're not even listed in the mix for this big guy. He's not a finished product but a big agile skilled kid. I'd love to see us get him.

Now THAT is the kind of recruit we should be pursuing.

We'd instantly rejoin the all-name team...just make sure he stays away from the establishments in NKY.

RE: BB Class of 2019 - Bearcatbdub - 03-05-2018 07:36 PM

That has to be one of the best names ever.

RE: BB Class of 2019 - scvanguard1 - 03-06-2018 11:46 AM

Makes you wonder about the etymology of his name. Like when immigrants came to Ellis Island and couldn't speak English, they'd ask what their job was, and their last name would become "Baker" or "Painter" or "Cook", etc... So I just wonder.....

a bit off topic, but i can chime in. my grandfather told me a joke about a swede who pulled into the ellis harbor with a host of others. asked his name and the feller replied that his was the same as the man in front. such was life for sam ting

I think if you said Cockburn admission would have been refused. LMAO

2019 legacy recruit Alonzo Gaffney committed to OSU this morning.

Do we even try to recruit the top players in Ohio?
How long does this staff get a pass on recruiting failures?

I think we should be prepared to watch Holtmann lap UC on recruiting. Matta did and early indications suggest that school up north made a great hire.

Yes, Nevada will sting for a long time. But frankly I'm more concerned at this point looking forward and wondering what it will take to attract even 4 star quality talent to a high profile program.

Man, would have been nice to of even had a curdosy visit, being an Ohio kid and legacy player. I believe he took visits to OSU, Xavier, Louisville.
