CCU Stadium Expansion - CoastalFans - 12-11-2015 02:40 PM
Coastal's Board of Directors unanimously approved our stadium expansion plans today. The cost is expected to be $38 million & renderings should be released later today.

QUESTION: Does CCU play a Big South Schedule next year, or an FCS Independent schedule since the other sports will already be in the SBC?

We'll be an FCS independent. Several Big South schools have already removed us from their schedule.

Looks similar to what App and Georgia Southern have done in recent years! Looks great. I love the "Grand Stand" aspect of the stadium.

Looks awesome!! Didnt see a official seat count but the renders make it look like it will be in the 25k zone. Looking forward to making a trip in the coming years.

Word from the Coastalfans board admin who has connections says about 21,000 seats plus the standing room only capacity. I'm guessing that is about 2-3K.

It will be close to 21000 seats and 2-3 standing on the boardwalk. The visitors side has the ability to build future suites if the desire builds.

I like how the top picture shows the current seats in gray .
The contrast makes it easier to tell where the new seats are.
Perfect for a lower tier bowl game one day.
Not too big that it becomes a stale environment for game days.
I like that there is room to grow if needed in one end zone.
