Odom would be a Levine-esque hire. You'll see. The UH fans aren't trolling. They've lived it.
Memphis is not in a position to have to take risks. Guys like Monken or Babers are out there... They've already had their own programs to hone their skills.
Tony Levine would probably be a better candidate for you too. He recruited the team that beat you. Keep Dickey around to lead the offense and hire Odom as DC. Levine could be the CEO and recruit.

Odom will be out of a DC job soon. He would jump at the opportunity to be the Memphis DC. He is in no position to expect a HC job.
You could hire him to be your Bud Foster.

He was actually considered for the Memphis job when we hired Porter. Some say he turned down the job.
