How many coaching changes will we see? 20+ - bossman68 - 10-28-2015 12:59 PM

The next 8 weeks could be real interesting.

This will only help Cubit staying at Illinois with all their holes in the players yet still being bowl-eligible (assuming they get to 6W). I could see them maybe asking Cubit to hold on for another year.... and other schools not normally in the upper 25 Thinking about firing their coach, to hold back.

How about these guys--

Rick Neuhiesel
Houston Nutt
Brady Hoke
Bo Pelini
Ed Orgeron
Lane Kiffin

I would think some these guys would be getting a new gig.

Athlon posts "likely candidates" after each coaching spot opens up...

Toledo & BGSU HC's. Can understand that. I'd take Babers over Campbell. But they have Dantonio?! Having him leave MSU to go there? He'd have to be Unhappy at MSU to go there. Ridiculous they'd put him on the list just because he played for them in 70s as a DB. Which is why them mentioning Fleck also brings a chuckle (can you say "too soon"?), just as SMU's HC being a prospect. Now, Memphis & Houston's HC's -- Yes.

Same goes with the similar Maryland link.

For the Miami link -- it's good they put PJ in "Longshots" (along with Lane Kiffin), as it's still a bit premature for places to hire him right now. The only places would be G5 places with good $ to upgrade from the MAC, but PJ's fat contract pretty much prevents a G5 from doing that at this point.

How many more spots will open up between now and Monday?

What about Hazel at Purdue? He hasn't won a big 10 game at home yet...

RE: How many coaching changes will we see? 20+ - bossman68 - 10-31-2015 12:08 PM

I read that Bill Snyder might be ready to leave Kansas St.

I bet Nebraska wishes they still had Pelini coaching.

Or Solich for that matter.

Can't be long at Texas now. They have hired their AD and they just got hammered by Iowa St.

Why? Pelini is a god awful coach and a terrible human being.

If we're lucky, Bill Parcells, Vince Lombardi or Jesus himself will be our next coach. They are probably among the few three options that might appease the howling mob.

God awful coach? The lowest amount of wins he had in a season were 8, while his players were WTF when he was suddenly fired! :) But as far as a terrible human being, I can't argue with ya there. There's a reason they fired a guy who knew how to win, never winning less than 8 games in a season in the B1G.

The third would just make me mad. He's got better things to do than subpenoea posters!

Add Hawaii. This would rank as an outside chance.

RE: How many coaching changes will we see? 20+ - bossman68 - 11-01-2015 05:16 PM

I bet we will see 20 coaching positions available.

RE: How many coaching changes will we see? 20+ - bronconick - 11-01-2015 05:22 PM

Norm Chow at Hawaii fired. The program's having trouble staying solvent, so there isn't likely to be a big job for anyone
