18 conference games next year with NO DIVISIONS. Play 7 teams twice and 4 teams once. Travel partners. No decision yet on future location or format of conference tourney beyond this season.

No Divisions is the correct call. My guess is we hear something about a future conference tournament in Myrtle Beach sometime in the near future, probably rotating with a Western site.
I also expect the annual "Award all the conference tournaments to the new guys" announcement shortly, sort of like we did when we immediately rotated half our conference tournaments through Statesboro and Boone.

No divisions is the correct call. SEC got rid of them a few years ago.

Very cool. If Conway or MB does host I imagine VisitMyrtleBeach.com is sponsoring as they did the Big South tournament. I don't know if the other schools have sponsors that want the tournaments in their areas but MB wants the visitors before the busy season in April.
It did become a bit of a point of contention with some fans. The conference loved the sponsorship money but some of the fans of other schools started to get frustrated when Coastal won the last couple of years. It's funny, they didn't have a problem the year we didn't win.
I do think alternating east / west sites is smart though.

I had posted this on another schedule thread but apropos for here.
I personally don't like 18 games. I'd rather a 16 game conference schedule but I guess it makes it tough for some teams to bring in extra game or pay for them. I would have thought it would allow you more flexibility in your OOC scheduling, but that's just me.
For basketball, my preference would have been going with two 6 team divisions and a 16 game schedule where you play everyone in your division home/home every year and all six teams from the other division rotating home/away every other year. It seems that would have minimized longer travel in conference and more flexibility to schedule games closer to home. JMO

Eh, for most of us, playing the extra conference games means we don't have to play either another home game vs a D2, or another guarantee game at a P5.

That sounds like a good idea, but I feel some teams (like GS) who are struggling to get home games wouldn't want less conference games. I really don't know what to do with our BB program. We need a new arena, but since the team is not a big draw it is hard to raise support/funds. We could maybe take a risk and spend big money to get a good home schedule and hope that attracts the fans, but if it doesn't we could lose a lot of money. My gut says open up the purse to buy a few home games and have a big marketing push for season tickets. Hopefully that would offset the costs and also bring in better recruits with a better schedule and attendance.
