Excited about the resurrection.

We are going to do this better than its ever been done before.

Best of luck to UAB! I'm really happy for you guys.

The sad part is we had a really good team returning and had a chance to make some real noise. In attacking UAB all they have done is awaken a sleeping giant.

how many players can UAB sign the next few years? I know you can normally sign 25 players per class.

Awesome. Sounds like they all have great attitudes, excited about being a part of something never seen before.

Atta wake me up when Coach Clark actually has a contract through at least 2020.

Now that sounds like something Ive heard before, but where....OOOO Yeah in 1998 and the beginning of 1999. Buffalo fans and part of the MAC tried to keep telling us that now the Buffalo Bulls were IA that the "Sleeping Giant" would wake up and take over the MAC. Im just going back to 1978 the year they move to DIII and 1993 IAA, and 1999 venture to IA. From 1978-1998 UB won 92 games out of 226 or a winning % of .411. While in the MAC with UB (99-04) UB was 9-59. with wins over BUGS (2000), Ohio (2 times, 2001, 2003), Rutgers (2002), UCF (2004), CMU (2004).

Since UAB started football they haven't won more than 7 games in a IA season and have only done that twice, 2000 at 7-4 and 2004 at 7-5.

We will be around 85 when we play in 2017. I know we are signing 14 this winter with 25 in the spring. That will put us at about 53 with about 19 or 20 preferred walk-ons that could earn a ride. 25 more in 2017 puts you at 78.

Clark contract is finally in the works. We have begun hiring additional coaches and now signing players. Coach would not hire guys if he didn't think he would be here.

UAB should schedule Elon for their first game back. Show them who the real Phoenix is.

Not quite. The Phoenix rose from the ASHES. Birmingham is rising above the A**ES.

I predict our first game back will be Alabama State or A&M. ;-)

Either one of those would be a great call. Not only would there be thousands of UAB fans but either opponent would bring their fair share of fans too. USA has both of those teams as future opponents too. Now only if UA & AU would follow this example and start scheduling USA, UAB & Troy. I'm all for keeping as much OOC money in-state as possible for all of the FBS schools.

my ideal schedule would be a home and home with both troy and usa. that way we would have one instate FBS home and away game every year. for the one fcs home game I would try and schedule instate as well with Alabama A&M, State, and Jacksonville being my first choice because of their fan bases and bands. The last ncg would be a money away game.

I'd love to have UAB & USM as alternating H&H OOC opponents on a regular basis.

doubt Mississippi Southern would play you. south is too much of a threat to them because of location.

Rice only had 51 players for spring practice after Todd Graham left. It will be a hard road back, but it can be done. Good luck to you.

Surprisingly, we have a H&H scheduled with them in the next couple of years.
