I see nothing new here. Just regurgitated stuff from other sites. 07-coffee3

The previews of both UConn and SMU seem accurate. Both ships have turned around, but are a long way from up to full speed.

RE: AAC SEASON PREVIEW - Hurricane Drummer - 07-22-2015 02:39 PM

It's interesting that they have 5 Tulsa players in their Top 30 list. That's more than any other team if I counted right. It kind of surprised me. Our depth in the defensive backfield is still a concern though.

RE: AAC SEASON PREVIEW - 72Tiger - 07-22-2015 03:41 PM

They have USF losing to Syracuse?? Syracuse looked dreadful last year.

RE: AAC SEASON PREVIEW - Bearcats#1 - 07-24-2015 07:49 AM

I heard Tulsa is scrambling right now for a place to play because the park they play is tired of the games tearing up the grass expanse and so they are denying them access this year.

Any Tulsa fans care to shed light on this development?

You're a little late Bearcat. Osage County Parks and Rec has leased one of its intramural fields to Tulsa. Condition being that they get to keep all Gatorade and soda revenue.

It's a sweet deal really. The rolling green hills and tallgrass prairie make for a scenic view. And I here the fraternities are putting on bison tipping events after the night games. (fun stuff, but watch where you step!) Also, it's a full length field so when a team scores we don't have to move back to the 10 yard line and score again. Although it did help our defense a little bit.

Bonus feature: Now there will be plenty of room for the other teams' cheerleaders to graze when they bring them.

On a serious note... did you know, that Tulsa actually had to do that 10 yard line thing in its early days? (30's I think???)

I really disagree with this loss. USF is unproven and literally EVERYTHING is different this year then the last two years, so it is really hard to even begin to guess how well do, but well beat Cuse.
They are on my list as a lock win. They won like 3 games last year and it was against CRAP. USF at least won 4 and was rather close on a few more, and we did that while playing the Top 5 teams in our conference plus a strong OOC schedule against 3 bowl teams.

^^^True story. I had to look it up, but according to the athletic website Skelly Stadium was opened in 1930 so they would've played on the short field previous to that.

From tulsahurricane.com:
"McNulty Park, the original home of the Golden Hurricane, had become archaic by modern collegiate standards. In actuality, it was a baseball field that only measured 90 yards. This meant teams had to cross the goal line once, place the ball back on the 10 yard line, and cross the goal line again in order to score."

RE: AAC SEASON PREVIEW - laser101 - 07-24-2015 10:38 PM

They have Cincy playing ECU with both teams winning and Cincy playing USF with both teams losing. The team picks section is messed up.

RE: AAC SEASON PREVIEW - JHG722 - 07-24-2015 11:04 PM

I love when they say a player looked great in the spring and then completely get his name wrong. Also, while the praise for Matakevich is great, Kyle Friend is our best player. To not have him in the top 30 players in the AAC and not on either 1st or 2nd team all AAC is hilarious.

Also, their all AAC PR transferred.

Syracuse is about as 'marquee' as UMass.

RE: AAC SEASON PREVIEW - USFRamenu - 07-29-2015 06:22 PM

last I checked Syracuse was a P5 school and UMass wasn't. Or do you suggest we exchange Charlotte for Syracuse? I love the hate BS on this forum. 03-lmfao

My point is that times are what they are. We have to play the so called Power schools and beat them. This means no matter who they are. Just to move the perception of our schools and conference into a positive light. Constantly bickering and denigrating the schedules of our conference mates only serves to hold ourselves back. We are in this together until we aren't. 03-phew

RE: AAC SEASON PREVIEW - pesik - 07-29-2015 07:08 PM

im surpised they have william jackson all the way at #23 in top 30 players, when he's the higest of any play on an allerican team, recieved the most preseason watchlist stuff and is projected the highest draft pick not named gunner

and no greg ward but dane evans is interesting ..especially having evans high than lynch

but if anyone looked at the individual game prediction in the division evaluation they do not have us beating a single team with a pulse in ooc...not 1..kanasas with memphis is the only p5 win and the next best ooc win they have in our conference is fau or fiu
