That's generally how it goes. I highly doubt Nichols wants to play for any team in the AAC. It's gotta be one of the schools blocked for "tampering" or Tennessee.
Also, as far as nothing to stand on? The kid signed with Memphis..... Memphis regardless of the situation released him from that with restrictions. Which is more than fair.
The only schools blocked are conference schools, possible future opponents and Tennessee.
Other than blocking Tennessee there is nothing different being done then what every single school does everytime.

Seems like there is plenty of precedence for conditional releases. So not sure why the University is in the wrong here.
