Side Note: ULL's Anyama's brother will be on the field for TXST this year. Will likely be at Safety position. Offered out of HS but went to UT on a T&F scholly. Didn't like it and transferred to TXST last year. Sat out 2014 season.

Dane Brugler tweeted it out 3 hrs ago, He might have initially been with the Lions but if you are an UDFA QB and a team that signed an UDFA QB for a $100 Million contract calls it wouldn't take much to change my mind.

Mayo might make a good ST captain for Carolina. but thats as far as he'll get

as far as our App guys, I think Lamm has the best chance at a roster spot. Ross is maybe. depends on how bad the Cowboys secondary is

Says the guy who didn't seem him play live at all and knows more than the GM of the Panthers.

Yeah, he'll be ST and they want him in a backup LB role, as well. That may be all he ever gets but I think he has more potential than you obviosuly do. However, he was drafted and will likely be on an NFL roster. Not bad for the kid.

I find your comment condescending.

PS - we had 2 guys go UDFA in 2013. They both made their teams' rosters and both play every game. No ranking, no reports, just a pro day. You just don't know.

The Carolina Panthers only had five draft picks this year, so the chances are Mayo makes the roster. The Carolina special teams were pretty bad last year, so he can help. Carolina did not have a 6th or 7th round pick, so they had to take him in the 5th to ensure that he was on their roster, which was a lucky break for Mayo.

As a 5th round pick he will sign a four year deal worth over $2 million with a signing bonus of around $200,000, which is the only guaranteed money. Getting drafted is huge and as a rookie you just want to make the roster.

In 2011 Mayo was a linebacker at Santa Monica College looking for a D1 scholarship and in 2015 he will be a linebacker with the Carolina Panthers. No matter what happens with his NFL career, he has accomplished a lot in football.

In his time with Carolina, Mayo is MOST LIKELY not going to start. Not while Luke Kuechly is there. Now, he can secure a backup position (maybe as soon as this year) and get plenty of PT on special teams. I figure this year he will see a bit of time at ST, and then they will focus on bulking him up, as he's a bit light in the pants for a MLB at 220 (at least in that defense).

I like to think that is what the App guy was getting at.

I dont know how he will fare with the Panthers based on their personnel already in place but I'm surprised he wasn't drafted. Of all the games Ga Southern played this year, he is the one defensive player that stood out to me the most. I don't even remember anyone else.
