Mangus, 2 others dismissed from East Carolina football team - sfink16 - 04-19-2015 08:59 PM

Saturday’s Purple and Gold game was supposed to be a coming-out party for East Carolina running back Chris Mangus. However, the Virginia Tech transfer was dismissed from the program for violating team rules.

Mangus, who graduated from Broughton High as a three-star running back in 2012, transferred to East Carolina at the start of fall camp last season and generated a buzz on the Pirates’ scout team.

If you aren't following the team rules, you aren't interested in being part of a team.

Good riddance. No place for these guys on a winning Pirates team.

Probably one we can afford to "miss out" on. I'm very confident in our young backs.

Not trying to put lipstick on an ugly situation, but he is one of 6 Rbs that would be competing for snaps and 3 of them have significant experience. 2 of those have 3 years of eligibility left.

Mangus had good enough hands that VT tried him out at receiver, so it would have been interesting to see how the used him. But, rules are rules, so so long and good luck in your future endeavors.

As an alum you have to be proud of how ruff runs the program. Skip would have put Magnus on double secret probation.

Skip's policy was always hit or miss (see Williams, Jonathan).

Personally, I think we'll be fine at RB.

IMO, Jonathan Williams would've been the best RB in the nation, or one of them, if he could've kept his **** together.
