No. 7 Cajuns (23-3, 8-1) swept Georgia Southern (6-19, 0-6) in a Monday and Tuesday series
Game 1 8-2
Game 2 12-1
Game 3. 9-0

Bobcats have a DH today with SFA. Game 1 scheduled at 12, Game 2 at 2pm.
Hopefully the weather cooperates, rain in the forecast today . . .

Have to say even though the Cajun swept the series I was impressed with the GS team. The games were typically won in the 4-6 innings with GS holding the Cajun hitters down early in the games. Four errors played a big part in the second game but the fielders made some nice plays on some hard hit balls in the other two games. They actually charged an error (incorrectly I thought) on a hard hit ball in the second game of yesterdays doubleheader that I thought took a bad hop for the only error of that game. I think GS has something to build on with the team they brought to Lafayette. JMO

Lady Bobcats took 2 from SFA today. That puts them @ 18-12 for the season, so far. They only won 26 games all of last year. Marked improvement from a tumultuous season.

App had their home opener today, came back from 7-0 down and beat UNC-Charlotte 12-9.
Gonna be a rough weekend (and a few more rough weekends), but I like what Coach Savage (first year) is doing with a team that finished 7th in the SoCon (out of 8 teams) last year.

Maybe the conference will actually mention it... I remember 2 seasons ago USA beat a top 25 FSU and it was never mentioned by the conference on the web page, or in a tweet, or in a Facebook post.

I think UH was ranked #4 when we beat them. Wasn't mentioned.
(UH has since had a ton load of injuries and it shows)

Important wins for the conference. No doubt I think it will come down to the Cajuns and the Jags, but lets everybody keep it up, and maybe we get some better seeding and maybe even a third team in WCWS lottery.
