Over 4,000 showed up at USM last night - eager eagle - 03-05-2015 12:44 PM

Attendance for the USM-Ole Ms baseball game last night at the "Pete" exceeded 4,000. Not bad for a mid-week baseball game. That figure does not include those who hang around outside the right and center field fences who dont buy tickets.

This should give people some insight into what's necessary to restore an enthusiastic Golden Eagle fanbase. Hint: it ain't pizzabowls.

Southern Miss baseball has always had so much potential.

That's impressive

That game usually drew closer to 5,000 before Berryball took full effect. There were many open seats in the grandstand.

Weather forecast had a lot to do with the attendance being a little down. They were predicting a lot of rain that never came.

Do you have pictures so we can make our own estimates of the attendance EE?

WHY?

In need of a daily erection on attendance numbers? Surely you can wait until tonight's announced figures for basketball games to get off on.

It was a joke. Eager Eagle analyzes pictures of Tech football games and tries to count the number of people in attendance so he can say, "No way there was 20,000 people there... more like 17,500... section GG holds 1500 people and it was half full, etc...

No, unlike Tech whose 1200 seats are centered right behind home plate, the Pete seating stretches from beyond home dugout in left back around behind home plate and then out the right field line beyond visitors dugout and then picks up as "right field roost" stretching on down right field line and veers left at right field foul pole to end just short of center field.. Proving a photo would require an entire panoramic view and you could not make an estimate due to unfamiliarity with the layout. Edit note: The suites are enclosed thus no way to tell how many folks are up there.

The Pete

Nothing exactly new, but in this short video new members can see what the boxes, stands, and roost all look like.

Yeah, I remembered exactly what y'all were referring to as soon as I read that.

Estimating LA Tech attendance numbers is just one of EE's weird hobbies.

Sorry - pics or it didn't happen. Even after I see them don't be surprised if I can only find 1,500 or so actually there 07-coffee3

I'll take one for the next game from the roost....that oughta do it justice.....

there were not 4k there last night, but it was great turnout relative to butts on the grounds.....

hell, it was better than hoops during the LE years...sigh

EE was often right about La Tech's low football attendance numbers, but I don't understand why he cared so much.
