Hartford AAC Tourney Blog and Visitors Guide - DSquiz - 03-04-2015 07:24 PM

I'm a UConn alumni, live near Hartford, and have some free time so I thought I'd make a site to help anyone unfamiliar with the Hartford area who is here for the AAC tournament. I love going to new cities but digging through message boards and yelp can be a pain.

So far i plan to cover The Tournament, The St. Paddy’s Day Parade, Bars/Restaurants/Drink Specials and Entertainment/Museums/Places to See. Let me know what you guys think or what you would want to see more of.

Nice job on that! Next Saturday downtown is going to be nuts with the tourney, parade, and cheerleading competition all going on.

My wife was born and raised in Middletown and we live in Connecticut for over 12 years now I'm in Boston I miss Connecticut.
Im a CCSU alumnus, Ty for this.
Important event in Hartford is taking a cruise on the Connecticut River don't forget that

I've updated with restaurant info including the "fan bases" and more about the parade.

Edit: I also updated with info on the Pub Crawls and more on the parade. Museums, concerts, and places of interest should be up next.

It's looking like the weather should be in the upper 40's/50 too which is awesome.

Nice job DSquiz!

With all of the St. Patricks day activities going on during the tournament it got me wondering so I have a question for those of you living in the southern and western fringes of the conference.
Is St. Patrick's day as big a deal there as it is in the northeast?
I'm not saying its like Christmas up here but it is a pretty big deal. I can't imagine it's as popular in those regions but I could be wrong. What say you?

No, it's not a big deal at all. Oddly, Savannah Georgia has the largest St. Patrick's celebration outside of Boston.

My last big update just went live, entertainment, museums, and places to see. I've listed everything from the Mark Twain House to the Casinos to Pepe's Pizza. I would definitely give it a look if you want to know where to go in the Hartford area.

It's a pretty big deal in Dallas. Roughly 125,000 people join the celebrations on Greenville Avenue each year
