Cacok was very good at that. Pridgen may have that knack. Of course good hops help too. Yup, rebounding is an art. Rodman was undersized but was a macine. Basketball Recruit Updates - Proff - 05-29-2020 05:33 PM With all his faults Rodman did two things very well - he played great defense and was a rebounding fool - the two things every coach loves in a player. At least most coaches anyhow. Him missing practice during the playoffs for a wrestling event was classic Rodman. RE: Basketball Recruit Updates - billthebighawksfan - 05-29-2020 10:45 PM That was cool. If I was a teammate I would have been upset, but as a wrestling fan as well it was really crazy and fun. Let's break this down a bit: Ring agility-Great talent but unskilled. He would need 6 to 12 months to be good. Wrestling ability-Talent, but not there. Rodman had all the tools for sure. Build-excellent. Charisma-excellent. Staying in character-Very good....just be himself. Overall, I really liked him as a wrestling icon. A rebel that made it fun. He wanted to be there and it was nuts! You could tell that even Hogan was impressed that he was there. Getting to hoops, Pridgen is a throw back player to me, do it all kind of guy that doesn't mind mixing it up. Offensively he is a problem to deal with and certainly will take the mid range or drive it to play though contact. The only thing will be how good of a defender that he will be at the 4, if he is a 4. He's athletic enough to guard a 4 in the CAA I think, but we shall see what the net is in the NCAA's when you have to guard a guy a bit bigger at the 4. To me, he's really a 3 man even in this system but could play 4. I would love to see Dodd slide over to 4 eventually given his defensive agility, but we shall see-he will need to expand his offensive game and seemingly can. Prigden is a good fit and will fill out a stat sheet. My gut is that he will give you some 3 ball action as well even though that's not his MO. He's a good overall player that will mix it up. You need guys like that. He won't back down and is tough. We shall see after a red shirt. If the kid from St. Johns can go immediately and they actually have a season, UNCW should be vastly improved if everyone stays. We shall see. RE: Basketball Recruit Updates - geezerhawkdad - 06-04-2020 07:40 PM Breon Pass of Reidsville is listed at 6'1" or 2". He's a star football player, too. He's an athlete, a coach's son, and a smart kid, too. He recently announced he would play basketball in college rather than football. Not sure about Pettiford, but I think Berry played for them. Pettiford would be an amazing get. RE: Basketball Recruit Updates - Big Alpha Hawk - 06-05-2020 07:43 AM Pettiford is likely going to Louisville per recruiting analysts RE: Basketball Recruit Updates - billthebighawksfan - 06-05-2020 08:00 AM Hawks should be in good shape at PG regardless so this is not a biggie to me. As awesome as it is to see pre-play glimpses of what appears to be our program getting turned back around towards championship pedigree... I still can't blame a kid with offers from a big time program like Louisville for taking that opportunity.
