Falling right in line with the kinds of recruiting battles Keatts won here. Very impressive start.

Great get. Especially with two other CAA schools in the mix.

Gonna be a fun brand of basketball again.

Now to find a big or two and thinks are looking like an immediate turn around.

Don't forget Wake Forest and Witchita St.

Nice pickup! Roster is almost set. One scholarship left. We badly need a Grad Transfer or JUCO big to round it out, whether or not Steere is eligible for this upcoming season.

RE: Recruit Updates - 82hawk - 04-10-2020 06:18 PM

Looking at Hoopseen ratings, Siddle picked up the 18th best player in the state(Carr) and the 25th best player in the state(Harvey) in his 2020 class as head coach at UNCW. Ian Steere was the #10 player in NC in 2018.

I know beating out WF and WSU is great, but it kinda feels even better beating out Hofstra and JMU.

My concern now though is Shykeim. He has to be seeing these two PG pickups as eating into his PT.

Thoughts?

Narrowed to Top 4 and UNCW isn't in the mix.

Harvey is a SG/wing I believe. Shy will most likely be our starting PG.

We’re going to play 4 guards so it shouldn’t eat into his playing time. Jamahri is more of a wing that can play PG if need be. I could definitely see a starting lineup that features Shy, Jajuan, and Jamahri in a couple of years.

I agree 100 percent. We can’t lose a kid from Fayetteville to JMU or Hofstra. Plus we’d have to see him twice for the next 4 years. No thanks

Harvey isn’t going to take Shy’s minutes at PG. We’re going to play 4 guards and we don’t have a lot of size there either. There should be plenty of minutes between Harvey, Simms, and Estime.

Yep. I think if anyone this would impact Estime’s minutes the most.

PHR: What made UNC-Wilmington the place in the end and what kind of relationship did you build with Coach Siddle?

Harvey: UNCW is the spot! Honestly, it was just the vibe I got from Coach Siddle and the relationship we built early on. As soon as he got the job, I was the first offer he gave out and he just explained how much he needed me in the program. He was very persistent as we communicated every day literally. He told me I will have an immediate impact on the program. Also, the school is right here at home, so it was just a win-win situation for me.

I was most worried with Elon. They’re as close to Fayetteville as Wilmington and feels like they have some momentum too.

If his rehab and practice was as strong as Burke was saying, Estime will have plenty of playing time. And with the style of play Siddle is bringing, there will be a lot of rotation to keep five fresh players on the floor.

To your point Bricks before, another recruit quoted as saying staying close to home was a factor

2021 PG: Strong week continues for Angelo Brizzi adding an offer from the Hoyas. Picked up offers from Nova, UNCW and Bucknell in the last 3 days.
