Corporate sponsorships are nice, but without the butts in the seats, wins, and eyes on the TV, those will go away quickly.

Raymond James is nice but too big for them.
Building an appropriate sized expandable on campus stadium would be better. UTSA is a different situation it will be interesting to see if they continue to thrive. I'm not aware of a team starting out in a big stadium and thriving.

UTSA would be much better off with a open air stadium around the 40k capacity range. Similar to baylors.

I'm certainly no AAC apologist, but let's at least be honest here. It was not "raining a little". It was an effing monsoon last night. I doubt App's attendance would've been much better in those conditions, though I'm not sure West Virginia has ever experienced rain like the USF game last night.

Unless it is downtown, I disagree. UTSA is selling you on the AlamoDome / Riverwalk experience.
Part of the draw of going to a UTSA game is that you can fly into town, stay on the riverwalk, "tablegate" along the river, walk to the Dome and go back to your hotel for night two.
With 30,000 in the dome it gets loud because there is no where for the noise to go. The best thing they could do for TV is close off the upper deck unless it is absolutely necessary.

Not to pile on but USF's attendance was the same a few weeks ago...then again they were losing to FCS bottom dweller, Western Carolina.

Agreed. Not saying USF's attendance is anything other than abysmal. Just saying that in the game last night it was excusable and the OP wasn't being honest when he said "raining a little".

28,000? They are using Tulane math. They are 5th in the pecking order in Tampa. They do NOT deliver that market. I have no ill will towards USF. If they win, people will come. If not they are hardly on the Tampa radar. What does your location have to do with the worth of your school? Starksville is a sleepy little Southern town but they have an SEC team because they draw interest all over the region and country. The same could be said for Bama. North Texas and UTA are in a huge market. Neither deliver it.

The Uptown area might as well be a city to itself. There is a large population of Jewish people with many go to high school and later Tulane from that area. I know a lot of life long residents of that area that are going to the games. If they lay an egg this and next year that stadium will also be empty. The Superdome is a five minute trip for Tulane. The locals will not support a loser.
